"And Your Argument Is Teams In The NBA Would Not Sign JR Smith? You're Agreeing With Me That Worse Contracts Are Being Thrown All Over The Place, The Knicks Dont Sign JR SOMEONE WILL Give That Man 6-7 Mill Per Season, No Matter How Much Trip From The Coli Hates Him"

Your basically saying other teams sign players to bad contract all the time so why can't we. Your whole argument revolves around how much other teams might pay him and you gonna end up giving him to many years

its an expiring deal... there's always a suitor for an expiring contract. christ man...do you pay attention to how the league works. The only 3 contracts that really matter right now are Amare's, Melo's and Tysons.

Locking JR SMith up for a guaranteed another 3 years isnt a smart move imo....considering how streaky he is and the possibility he falls off the grid off the court.

Expirings aren't that highly valued anymore unless you're a big market in search of them

Here's the thing about Rip though...even though he's declining, at least you know you're not going to get a disruptive, ball-dominant player on the court. Rip is a catch and shoot player who plays smart basektball and is a cagy vet. I would trust him over Smith in a playoff game...JR Smith is someone who doesn't contribute in any way unless he's scoring the basketball. He is one-dimensional player with no upside.

At the top of his position in rebounding and plays very solid D...as for upside meh...he is what he is at this point but def not one-dimensional.

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
How are we still the most dysfunctional team? Oh wait your a hater ignoring our 54 win season , increasing wins for the last 3 years etc oh but wait jr had a bad end of the playoffs and is willing to take the Knicks offer wow how horrible and dysfunctional

.,

Wasted year. 54 wins? Who cares? You didn't win anything. There is NO way that your team is going to win a championship, that is just reality. Most teams try to build a championship team, your management tries to build a team that competes for a division title and puts asses in the seats. You really don't think that your team and management is dysfuctional? Need I remind you that Dolan actually still considers Zeke a trsuted advisor and if it wasn't for the Marbury sexual misconduct lawsuit Isiah would probably still be a powerful front office official in the orginization? The Knicks are a disgrace, and the lack of discipline shown by the owner all the way down to the coaching staff and players is disgraceful.

I will say, it makes for great entertainment though. :salute:

So can I just say you didn't watch either jr or rip play this year ? And only saw jr once he started playing bad in the playoffs ?? Because he didn't win the 6th man of the year award by accident
So you wanna resign him to a bad contract because another team might over pay him :what:
How is this a bad contract ? There are sixth men that are making more money than that and are worse players . It's not easy to replace a 18 ppg off the bench
He must need time to cool off . Jr isn't meant to be our second option but amare can't stay healthy . That's not really jrs fault at all and he performed admirably for the season . Not to mention chandler who makes 5times no showed the series. How can people think a 28 player who can score like jr isn't worth that amount of money ? And he played for less than 3 mil this season

It's not that nobody wants JR @Trip. It's that JR Smith is best suited to be on the Knicks than anywhere else right now. All crap aside, this was his best season to date. JR has more incentive to play well here than anywhere else (could you imagine how disengaged JR would be in Milwaukee or Charlotte?)

Marcus thornton and JR are both scrubs.

Why don't the Knick's just do their homework and scout undervalued free agents.

Just look at what memphis did when they dumped that overrated chucker OJ Mayo and signed a jerryd bayless for 2 yr 6mil. This is what competent organizations do and not double down on bums.

That's exactly what the Knicks paid JR the previous 2 seasons (2/6) so you obviously get it in regards to getting solid players at a good value so what are you really saying?
