Report: J.R. Smith to switch agencies, join LeBron's agent Rich Paul

Rich Paul's Klutch Sports appears to be on the verge of adding another star to its growing basketball empire, as J.R. Smith is reportedly set to leave Creative Artists Agency to join Paul, according to Cleveland.com's Chris Haynes.
Paul, famously known for representing LeBron James, also represents fellow Cleveland Cavaliers teammate Tristan Thompson. In addition, Paul recently added John Wall and projected top-two pick, Ben Simmons, to his client list.
Given James' friendship with Smith, and his support of Thompson during the big man's contract negotiations last summer, Smith's own potential free agency suddenly becomes a fascinating one.
The 30-year-old sharpshooter has a $5.3 million player option for next season, but given the plethora of league-wide cap space the NBA's new television rights deal will create this summer, Smith can likely be expected to opt for unrestricted free agency instead.
And with Smith now represented by Paul, it's fair to wonder whether the Cavs will once again be the team breaking the bank for one of his clients.
