Ok so what are we doing here.

People trying too hard to discredit both of them like they both can’t be nice .

But what does ‘hot’ even mean :childplease:JR was a niche rhymer, a nice change of pace. At that time his style was unique. Modern battle rap—-or at least the 2010s version—-low key was probably influenced a lot by JR Writer.

Even with all that, he was not a better ‘rapper’ than Joe Budden. And Writers Block mixtapes weren’t better , more heralded, or even more popular than Mood Muzik. Like we’ve seen Budden in the same room with Styles P and Beans and steal the show, seen him regularly wash Fab and Lloyd Banks on tracks.

It’s crazy, even when the comp is a fellow ‘failed’ mixtape rapper, nggas still really dislike and downplay Joe budden :heh:
JR Writer was never better nor hotter at any point than Joe Budden. JR Writer didn’t have any radio presence outside of NY. Joe Budden had a smash hit. You can call Budden a one hit wonder, but he still had more visibility and radio presence than JR Writer ever had. Joe Budden was on Def Jam Vendetta/FFNY with the most notable song on there. Even in the technical aspects, JR wasn’t seeing Joe. Only thing JR had on Joe was probably production, and even then you didn’t know cause people were mostly listening for Cam, Juelz, and Jim Jones.

no he wasn't
:dead:

That's the typical reaction Budden got for most of his career from "street nikka rap enjoyers" if we keep it a buck. He had to create his own audience to revive his career and while he deserves respect...he was never That Guy. And by "That Guy" I mean...a dude you mention at the barbershop and brehs are like yea he cold with it.

Joe Budden revisionist history is crazy. Dude has always been a joke. He had a good song on NBA live i think and pump it up was in stomp the yard.... nikka was equivalent to vanilla ice... mood muzik got nikkas making shyt up
