All the big franchises in JRPG land either dropped within the last 12 months or are dropping later this year...Ys, Mana, Saga...in addition to the obvious ones

Incredible renaissance for the genre

And no one cared

Aged like wine fakkit. This guy buys a game and thinks everyone’s playing it. Nah nikka you’re the only loser running around in purple hair. :mjlol:

Rumors of JRPGs demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Tbh the jump to the Wii/360/PS3 generation graphically made things awkward for them, and it took them a while to get back up. But right around 2017 when Persona 5 came out, is when they made their comeback. There aren't much AAA ones, but there is a ton of depth in AA JRPG's.

And I don't even play them shyts
Souls games and Monster Hunter have JRPG essence and they're some of the biggest sellers

Pokemon is the biggest IP period

Old school anime style turn-based games are much less popular, but they still have a dedicated audience. Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and SMT/Persona will never die

A remastered version of a 35 year old game sold 2 million copies.

We are about to enter a new golden age of we aren't already there.

:scust:

Soul Hackers 2 was a flop on multiple fronts and I hold 1 higher than most

Dungeons are a bit repetitive but otherwise I'm enjoying it so far :yeshrug:

Never played the first one so I can't speak to that. Was just looking for something to play after Metaphor and this scratches the itch so far.
