I wonder what it is about basketball that creates these massive egos.

I rarely hear a quarterback or a shortstop rant or whine in retirement about respect. Or claim they were better than so-and-so.

It makes these basketball players look so lame.

First it was the 55pts, as stated earlier with Jennings getting an ego thinking he would be a great volume shooter. Then he said Bucks in 6 against Heat Big 3 and we got swept 4-0. Then he got traded for Middleton, and Brandon Knight to have a fresh start with Detroit.

He actually started developing his game, but then his career ended when he ruptured his Achilles as he was never the same after. Just a bit of jealously seeing Jrue being productive and having a nice resume for a HOF induction; not first ballot but a good shot at it.

He did admit Holiday had a better career, but this brings on a bigger discussion. Player A puts up good numbers as the main option, but their team sucks and they don’t make the All-Star team while player B puts up okay numbers as a second option and they make the All-Star team because their team has a great record. Does that mean player B is better?

:what:

Trying too hard for a debate. That’s not accurate. Jrue was an all star in Philly on a bum squad as a #1 option and averaged 18 a game. So in his prime Jrue was in the same position as Jennings but he WAS an all star.

Jennings gotta play with somebody safe he has never been better than Jrue at any level literally everything he did Jrue did too, just in less flashy fashion.

Jrue is the battle rapper that went mainstream and nggas forgot he could spit

I, for one, welcome our new space overlords.
Gilbert whole crew think they better than they really were and it's funny
Just like Kenny on Inside NBA, It happens everytime a show gets good. They start out humble and talk about current players fairly. But getting the new stardom, constant attention and some fresh checks pumps up their ego. They start rewriting their career history and magnifying their good moments.

Brandon Jennings was trash living off the hype of one 50 point game in his rookie season.…every nikka that comes on that podcast presents as mentally ill in some fashion

there's no 1v1 component in football or baseball for a QB or shortstop to talk that kinda shyt.
WR & CB for football and pitcher & hitter for baseball are the closest 1v1 that can foster shyt talking

yet you are right, in basketball it is only you vs your defender for the entire game

It's because of the 1v1 aspect :what:

Plays like this show how awful of an NBA player he was. I hated Brandon Jennings game when he was in the NBA but I do think I understand why he's saying this even though he's wrong.

He was a lightning quick guard with the ability to score. That didn't translate to the NBA at all but coming out of high school he was more highly coveted and a lot of times guys hold on to how they were seen in high school and college. Do remember, he was drafted 10th after doing nothing in Euroleague and Jrue was drafted 17th.

If they didn't have the NBA age limit, Brandon Jennings might have been drafted top 5 overall.

I'll add,

NBA players tend to value offensive scoring ability which is why someone like Kyrie is called the "most skilled ever" disregarding the fact that Bball IQ is also apart of skill. Like as much as I love Kyrie, like how can Kyrie be more skilled than Jokic for instance.

Someone like Jrue Holiday who is a swiss army knife of skills might not be seen as skilled by just pure hoopers who just care about buckets, hezis, crossovers etc.
