Many styles fit different people. It's about defending yourself, not fighting. Some styles are easier to learn. It depends what your area carries.

For what exactly? BJJ is good for getting in shape, comradery, and defense. I don't practice BJJ though, most I have done at a gym is Boxing/thai. I have wrestled for life though so I know what it's like to be among people like that, most BJJ practitioners I have come across were chill people to be around. Definitely going to join a gym when I'm done with school, there aren't any decent wrestling clubs where I live.

Take what you can get locally. You want a gym you can attend at least 3-5 times a week. I believe BJJ is best for defense and your health and it will be a lot easier to compete in the future if you want to do that. I wouldn't suggest taking anything that will involve live sparring (boxing/thai) if you don't plan on competing for money. No point in taking blows to head for free, it's the main reason why I stopped boxing, I had no legit future in the sport. Grappling is a lot safer, you will encounter a lot less weekend warriors.
