I'm not saying Tannehill is an all-pro and future HOF QB, but people acting like he's a scrub or just had a lucky season are fools. He was stuck on a terrible Dolphins team. You need talent around you to win, and he's finally gotten that in Tennessee. What is the knock on him? He can't throw deep? He's not "clutch"? He just got "lucky"?

What is the actual criticism of him?

Im gonna lay off this tanny debate but I think you can find tweets from opposing coaches prasing the other teams qbs every week.

Fasho.

But breh arguing in bad faith like everyone on earth, including NFL coaches, agree with his trash takes on Tannehill. Who knew breh was so polarizing...

And I meant would I said about not going byke & forth with disingenuous mf's lol. Like @RiffRaff and @BucciMane done said, not 1 person backing up there argument with any serious facts, numbers, or results based evidence other than "brgh drgh argh, WITH RYAN TANNEHILL?!" rhetoric for real.

Nah I agree, I'm not completely sold on Tanny but I'm gonna go to war on it either. He's put up good numbers since coming to Tennessee I cant deny, but hes been surrounded with good talent which he didnt have in MIA so people are gonna talk. It was the same with Russ. Everyone said it was Lynch and LOB and Russ has more than proven his talent by dragging trash ass rosters to the playoffs year after year.

But when you got people saying "where was henry before Tannehill got here" like Tannhill made Henry who he is, brehs are gonna come out w/ the :dahell:

They feed off of each other is the point I’m trying to make with that comment lol. Henry really wasn’t like THAT before Tannehill because Mariota was trash. He wasn’t bad by any stretch, but he went from pretty good to phenomenal over night because Tannehill did come in and could hit receivers in stride. I don’t think Tannehill MADE Henry, but Tannehill’s play definitely upleveled Henry because of what defenses could/couldn’t schematically do given the threat of a competent QB. Likewise Henry made it so Tannehill could eat off of PA as long as he could throw accurately. Mutually beneficial relationship.

Thats probably just the progression of Henry and the oline(maybe) and doesnt depend on the qb at all

Id say qbs rely on the rb way more than a rb relies on the qb to be successful

They have none other than they're stuck on his Dolphins days where he got the 'average white qb' label. So when that guy all the sudden starts balling out after everyone wrote him off it confuses them so they resort to ways to discredit his breakout

Henry means a lot to the team no doubt. But Tannehill was the one who won that game in the clutch at home against Kansas City a few years ago. He was the one who converted that 3rd & 8 to seal the game against the Patriots, then blitzed Baltimore for 2 tds to put them up front so Derrick could go to work. He made the throws to AJ Brown to tie and win the games against the Texans last year, and he absolutely shredded Buffalo on a night Henry only gained 57 yards. A lot of those comebacks Henry wasn't even on the field during those closing drives

The notion that he can't get it done when it counts is absurd, especially when you think about how guys like Joe Flacco and Nick Foles balled out for a few games to win

As a Titans fan I can absolutely say it was QB dependent :pachaha:

Mariota was god awful breh

First 6 games of 2019 (Mariota starting) Henry had 416 yards and averaged 3.68 ypc

Last 10 of 2019 Henry had 1124 and averaged 5.91 YPC.

That large of a difference didn’t happen in a vacuum because the OL and Henry just naturally got better all of a sudden.

The only difference was Tannehill.

Imma die on this hill only because I’ve seen every single game. We only know how great Derrick Henry is, because of Ryan Tannehill. That doesn’t mean Derrick Henry didn’t also uplevel Tannehill, but that change doesn’t happen with a QB who can’t throw like Mariota

So. Cal
From Mike Tomlin (Reputable coach of the fukkboi Steelers who's never had a losing season + highly regarded as one of the more intelligent coaches in the league):

When game planning for Titans:

Let Coli Analysts tell it tho :mjlol:

Name a coach who shytted on the opposing QB regardless who they were. Ill wait...

Flynn was never a starter.

He was dominant w hasselbeck though too

Hypothetically speaking.

And again, that's breh point. Beast Mode was good before that but he wasn't beast mode. Cpl years when he was down in BUF, he got the same amount of carries as he would later on in SEA and wasn't getting the same YPC, and that's him at a younger & faster age.

Nobody's saying QB completely makes the RB, but it can be the diff from taking them good to great fasho. There's just no denying that the opps will defend you different if they know you got a hack back there compared to an ace.

Buffalo buried him in their depth chart too tho. Sometimes it's the right situation or culture not just the qb.

I know lynch wasn't clicking at first when he got here and he came to cable one day and really wanted to make the run scheme work and it started clicking

I think CBS protected it as their marquee game that week

CBS currently has it in the early window of a Doubleheader Week 7 (CHI-TB looks to be the "featured" game in the late window).

They should swap the game times, but Brady vs. the 3rd-largest market is probably enough of a draw to make no changes. :francis:
