That Hogan promo still gives me chills to this day. Best promo in wrestling, BAR fukkING NONE.

"Well the first thing you gotta realize brother, is this right here is the future of wrestling! You can call THIS, the New World Order of wrestling, brother!" :wow:

True brilliance from Hogan. Could feel the genuine frustration with fans...the way he projected his voice, just sounded like a different guy.

Only Heenan and to an extent Ventura could of gotten away with the "but who's side is he on" line due to their history of calling Hogan out on all of his schenigans over the years. I never understood why people put so much heat on Heenan for that line. It fit Heenan's character perfectly.

Smark revisionist history. Wanting to be the smartest person in the room. "I figured it out as soon as Heenan said it." :comeon:

As legendary and momentous this is, I firmly believe that a John Cena heel turn in 2014/2015 can trump this as the greatest heel turn ever. Real shyt.

The fact that one might even suggest or consider a John Cena heel turn is evidence that it will never as big. When it happened no one had ever even CONSIDERED turning Hogan heel. That's how unexpected and earth shattering of a moment it was. It was unprecedented.

For the first time in a long time wrestling audiences had no idea what would happen next. Because everyone's mindset at the time was if Hulk Hogan could turn heel then ANYTHING can happen. You HAD to watch now.

That was the spark that ignited the flame which would become the late 90's wrestling boom.

I ruled Hogan out after reading the mark magazines at the time where he spoke out against Hall and Nash and the Outsiders both called Hogan 'Huckster' in different promos.

What a great time to be alive. No internet, no spoilers, just a 9 year old kid loving pro wrestling and buying into it 100%.

True.

Plus John Cena is not a household name like Hogan was and still is. Cena would need a sextape with Ray J to maybe match Hogan's q rating. Maybe.

In order to get Cena's heel turn to be bigger you gotta get him to do something so extreme that even the marks would boo him, you gotta get him to spit on a make a wish kid. It sounds like a joke but I legit can't think of something he could do that would get everyone to boo for him.

Does not matter if it fit his character it put the idea in peoples heads and ruined the moment. Heenan is goat heel commentator but that's his biggest screw up and it's a pretty big one.

How the fukk it ruin the moment this is all after the fact logic these smark nerds wanna use. Why would Heenan who has had it out for Hoegan forever suddenly not question his motives?

Nah it didn't ruin the moment cause everyone probably assumed it was the usual Heenan slander.

He always hated Hogan.

I explained why it ruined the moment for myself and many other ppl. It's because he put the idea in people's heads who at the time were shocked to see Hogan they weren't thinking about it. There is many other things Heenan could've said that would've fit his character that would've not given it away. Never understood why this was so hard to understand. He put the idea in people's heads.
