I have to be honest, when I first read what the premise of this new movie was going to be I was underwhelmed but this trailer was actually decent.

It's a shyt sequel that had no tie ins to the original.
They just slapped the name "Belly 2" on it because they believed it would sell.
That's how I feel about this.
Then again Jumanji was just one of those classic movies as a kid to me so I'm just salty

I feel you. But you saw belly 2 and saw it was shytty. This isn't out yet. Might it be shytty? Of course. But it also might not be. And I haven't read the book but I'm sure you can take jumanji in all types of different directions right? So there's no limit to what you can do with the property as long as you keep some basic tenants aligned. And like I said before if they're going to make a sequel which they'd been trying to do since the first one but couldn't crack it story wise, then it was always going to be different from the first movie and a different beast. Give it a shot. If you think it's trash then by all mean crucify the studio and stone them. Or reverse that order.
I'm just not prescient about this shyt anymore for real. If I don't like this one I've always got the other one. This won't erase that from my memory nor does it mean I have to see this.

Not at all. Especially since its an adaptation of a book, meaning you can adapt and play with it until the sun dies out. Every writer can take a stab at their own interpretation of it. Back to the future isn't based on a book, its the sole idea of two guys who were looking around a garage, found a picture and wondered what it'd be like to go to high school with their parents. Our generation will say "oh hey its like that movie I may have loved when I was a kid" but another generation can see it and get some entirely new shyt while it still being true to the source material. The 95 movie takes liberties with the book just like this does, so one adaptation is just as reasonable as the other.
It's no different from there being 3 or 4 versions of the wizard of oz, 2 versions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, multiple versions of peter pan, and multiple versions of alice in wonderland. And thats not even including stage plays.
