laugh track is just a old school trick to make the audience think the jokes are funny when they aren't.
Guardians of the Galaxy does the same thing except instead of a laugh track they have all the characters laugh at their own jokes throughout the movie.

But it was written like that. You take the laugh track off any show and it sounds like that. At what point in real life have you ever paused after saying something witty for an imaginary audience to laugh?

Laugh tracks are for dumb people who aren't aware enough to pick up on jokes. But saying BBT isn't funny because they use a laugh track when damn near every sitcom does it is a lazy argument. They just happened to strip that one show of the laugh track but they could have done it to any show and shown the same effect.

Yes exactly, but all of those shows aren't funny. The best ones use a live audience or no laugh track. Shows like 30 Rock, Modern Family, Malcolm in the middle, The Office, Scrubs, rick and Morty, Southpark , the simpsons. No laugh tracks but still funny.

I don't understand what you're saying. Are you saying BBT isn't funny SOLELY based on the fact it uses a laugh track? That's absurd.

Some shows use it, some don't. Seinfeld used it. Classic. Curb didn't. Also classic. But for the shows that choose to use it, yes there must be a pause to play the track so if you mute the track then obviously it's going to seem off.

Any sitcom that removes the audience laughter/laugh track is gonna be awkward. Being that they act AROUND the laughter. So certain pauses n shyt like that. Is gonna look weird when it looks like their doing it for no reason. I've always hated that people would shyt on a fukkin sitcom cause it's awkward when they remove the laughter. They all would be. Fresh Prince. Martin. Etc etc.
