And I'm being nice by saying 2 albums too

He completely produced The Greatest Story Never Told Philadelphia Freeway "he did 10 of the 16 track... Good enough"

For the record, I am a fan of his and I considered Just to be one of the greatest producers ever but hard to put him in a class with Ye, Primo, Marley, or Dre because of the fact that he lacks having a lot of albums that were completely produced by himself unlike those other legendary producers.

Just Blaze? How about you Just.... Produce

I agree with your post to a degree, in that his lack of producing a complete classic album from start to finish counts against him if your comparing him to say Pete Rock, Rza, Primo and Dre. However, while Kanye West is a good producer he doesn't do all he's beats by himself so I wouldn't say he's body of work is better than Just Blaze's at this point if anything I would say they are about equal.

You mentioned Marley Marl who hasn't been relevant for about 25 years, however, he had huge influence on both Pete Rock and Primo who always site him as a massive influence whenever they are asked state who they look up to. Nevertheless, Marley was surpassed by them and others in the early nineties, would have been intreating to see how It Was Written would have turned out had he produced that Nas album as was originally planned.

Dre hasn't done all his beats by himself now for 20+ years, I guess that just reflects how hip-hop has changed to degree, Timbo don't seem to do it all by himself now as well. It's just rare for one producer to handle complete projects these days particularly on big budget projects. Producers like Alchmeist and Madlib still do handle complete projects but that's mainly for underground rappers.

he's executive producing the next Slaughterhouse album :manny:

he's probably not producing every song on the album but majority of the producers who have done something for the album were actually working together in the same studio so :yeshrug:

I'd assume there's more to producing an entire album for someone of Just's stature than just "hitting the studio"

I mean look at all the trouble that went into getting Greatest Story Never Told released......FIVE YEARS off schedule...

And comparing Just and Kanye doesn't make sense, Kanye produces albums for G.O.O.D Music, which is HIS team, and Jay-Z. Who else has he produced an album for that wasn't GOOD or Jay-Z? Besides that what was the last album that Kanye produced entirely Himself? Finding Forever?

Those are excuses.

West actually work on producing albums and just is just a lazy fukk.

Give me another all time great producer that only produced 2 album in a 14 year career

If J. Cole got Just Blaze to produce his album instead of making all those poverty beats himself then

dude just was never on that level imo. he had classics but didn't have that fire to be producing entire albums like that. all of dudes beats in recent years have been repetitive and bland. started adding all types of uneccessary shyt into his beats, sounding like a complete mess. but honestly he didn't have the catalog or the consistency to be pumpin out whole projects. to me it's insane when people mention dude in the same breath as the all time greats.
