I understand why Hov gravitated to Timbo, Pharrell and Kanye for his last couple albums (commercial appeal) but they resulted in pretty shytty music. Whereas Just Blaze n Hov have always made records that are not only dope, they're like events. Perhaps that's what Just Blaze's "specialty" is? He doesn't have many placements each year yet you always wanna hear that new Just Blaze produced track. Drake fukked up Lord Knows with some wack bars but it's still an amazing beat. Compton isn't one of the best tracks on GKMC but that shyt knocks.
But even that seems like it's gone. When was the last time Just did something amazing? I want to say 2011 lol. Lord Lnows and I Love My bytches by Ross; yes that Ross track was wack but the beat was amazing.
Sounds nothing like 2001 Dre . . 2015 Dre at the the best of his aspirationSound like some Dre 2001 era shyt that Dre will then "produce" and put Just on as a co-producer.
All that's missing is some Mel-Man ghostwritten verses, a Jewell hook, some flabby Daz adlibs and DOC to add his flavor to it
sounds like Just's imitation of a Dre beat.
As much as I fux with Blaze, this is why he aint a GOAT contender. Doesn't have his own chamber.

This beat changed hip hop.
It was the first time we heard soul samples accompanied by such aggresive drum patterns and breakdowns.
Before this beat, everyone was just copying RZA who first invented this style. But RZA used to lay low on the drums and bass and let the sample be in the forefront
After 1 900 hustler came out. Every soul sample beat had to have some kind of aggresive breakdown with tom tom drum rolls and hi hat crashes and such.
Just blaze took that baton and ran with it, And he took it to being one of the best producers ever. So props to him. His catalog shyts on Binks so thats that.
beat at any time
