Good stuff but if a child comes to your house at night looking to come in ask to see their eyes first.
I interrogated the kid like hell because it was so random for him to end up in this neighborhood on a bike. We called mama on speaker phone.
God almighty. He got ditched by friends, kid lives 10 mins away but so many turns and etc to get to his neighborhood, that honestly I don't understand how he ended up here. Him and his mother sound American born.

But real spit now a days folks are reluctant to have people around their kids unless they know them or they are part of an organization (school, little league sports, program).
I would say offer but just be aware that the mother might not be kosher on it.
But don't let that discourage you. There are plenty of kids that you can mentor at elementary and high schools, rec centers and day cares. These places are begging for black men and black women to mentor children.

This is how I feel about myself. My parents try to put me in a position to mentor my nephews and nieces but I am in no way a good person. I suffer with a variety of vices.
