It's kinda grim knowing that they may not be around for grandkids and such.

Idk son sound like bullshyt. I kept my license even when I didn't have a car because here in Louisiana anyway your licence can be used as proof of ID to buy alcohol, tabacco, get in clubs,for paper work etc

You can tell dude is very lonely and has zero friends (20-21 and not going out?)

I was my moms caretaker back in 2015, quit my job and everything and took turns w my dad nursing her. Still found time to grab a drink w friends and have a relationship w my woman.


Back to OP: given how he's been interacting w folks in this thread... Duke may legit be a recluse loner/socially awkward.


The license forfeiting just screams patriarch dictating and controlling childs life (in this case, he still very much a naive adolescent, 20-21 or not).


I applaud him for him handling his domestic duties... But this type of family obligation, whether volunteered, pressured or etc., ultimately WILL stunt his growth. I know.

The dad seems manipulative, over bearing... This is why the son responds and reacts to his every whim and request, regardless of how callous and dangerous it is. Not saying the dad directed him to grab the bread and hot coco... But its 2017, the little dude is just as much to blame for being naive and taking that trek in the blizzard. Doesnt spell "practical" and normal thought process.
