Find a union lead and tell them what you used to do. If you was loading steel on a forklift you can drive a skid steer or dozer.

Go to welding school.

This is an opportunity. Google every union and union shop in your area and fill out some apprenticeship apps.

I'm not a welder, I was working the machines. Technically the work I contributed didnt require a trade or schooling.
