Update for anyone curious (no one) my car is getting fixed

The estimate was high, fukking high. The shop thought allstate would total it out. And the shop was like "this is non repairable" but allstate was like "y'all can repair this shyt. fukk up" I guess overall the value is more than the damage. And the estimate was a lot. Iono

Y'all don't know how attached I am to this car. I started searching for new cars and they didn't live up. I'd randomly think about it and all the features I loved and just be sad. Now this may come back to bite me in the ass.... But I doubt it. And even so, I get a little more time with my love

How much was the estimate by the way.. Be wary, that claims will not tell you what your threshold for collision and comprehensive payments are.

If you go over a certain threshold, your premium WILL go up unless you're on particular coverage plan with Allstate, such as Platinum or Gold, which provides accident forgiveness. Also, if you have any property insurance bundled with them be prepared to lose any type of claims related discount that can make it go higher as well.

I already assumed the premium would be going up cuz of my shytty driving but I didn't think of the property insurance
Basically I had a dream where my estimate would be $3100 and my actual estimate was significantly higher than that, by almost a couple of grand.

No I didn't go through express claims wasn't even aware of that lol. Since I couldn't drive my car I got it towed straight to one of their preferred dealers instead of taking it to the adjuster. Whatever happened after that is between them

Basically, there is a limit of money that an insurance company will pay out to where they will not assess your policy and readjust the premium to offset the cost of the claim. It differs from state to state but most don't like to pay over 2k for any claim, comp or collision, respectively. Doesn't mean that they won't but you'll feel it in your pockets.

That makes sense. I just thought claims went up regardless, especially if you're constantly fukking up. Thanks for the info breh ima do my research
