Well, I see what you are saying. There's an expectation for a student applying for an English-speaking college to speak English. It's possible that English is their secondary language and it may be a deal breaker if the student does not have a Spanish-speaking "whatever job that you didn't get" representative.

Good luck in the future. Don't let it get to you. If it helps any, sometimes it is worth being a suck-up/brown noser if it helps your career path. :manny:

Yeah I heard that shyt hard for me to do I have to learn how to be a c00n

That shyt happens here too. We have two official first languages...and I only speak English, not French...so it's an advantage to speak both. Blah. Whatevs.

French was the first language I ever wanted to learn but I was really young and there isn't a large French-speaking contingency in the US... If I lived in Canada, I would most likely speak French and not Spanish... That's f**ked up though..

I thought it was a requirement if you lived in Miami? Like you can't go about a normal day without knowing at least a bit of spanish.

I would assume the same things for Quebec and places like that.

Conversational Spanish is one of the easier languages to pick up. I'd recommend you learn it in your free time.

I just need to go to a country and immerse myself and I'll be fully fluent. I can read and speak pretty well, writing is another issue....

SMH, and its not a little bit of Spanish, they want you to be a damn Spanish professor with the pronunciation and all. In an English speaking country. Why can America encourage people to speak a little bit of English for everyone? That's like me moving to Japan and not learning a lick of Japanese.
