Everyone should know English in America but adding another language to the arsenal never a bad thing![]()
I leaned a little Spanish, but these jobs want us to know it inside and out as our native language. That is too much IMO.

Conversational Spanish is one of the easier languages to pick up. I'd recommend you learn it in your free time.
I just need to go to a country and immerse myself and I'll be fully fluent. I can read and speak pretty well, writing is another issue....
Most of the government jobs require that you speak both English and French, which makes sense. I studied French grades 4 through 10...but didn't stick with it. Unless you're in French Immersion, you really don't learn it that well to be conversational.French was the first language I ever wanted to learn but I was really young and there isn't a large French-speaking contingency in the US... If I lived in Canada, I would most likely speak French and not Spanish... That's f**ked up though..

I speak three languages total and in addition, studied Spanish for a year and a half and Russian for a year...but I didn't keep up, so I'm not fluent in either (except my native languages).
that shyt happens everyday in Miami, shyt it happens everywhere else in America, these Spaniard's are takin' over...fukk MIamiI need to move
Been here 2 years pretty much being groomed for the position. These fukks aint even have the decency to even pull my application or give me an interview because I dont speak spanish foh. I work at a College in America why the fukk would I need to speak Spanish these fukking Cubans really took over MIami![]()
This is America. We have no official languages here. Deal with it.

Except, it's not really racial discrimination. That's de facto racial discrimination. English is the primary language and people shouldn't be barred from promotions merely because they do not speak Spanish or aren't a fukking Mexican. There needs to be lawsuits alleging racial discrimination b/c that's what happens. Largely only Mestizos and whites speaks Spanish, no one else.
Im sorry for your L. But often, friend, the L's we take are grooming us for W's in the future.

People get jobs based on skill (generally).
They treat knowing multiple languages as a skill, and if you don't have it, they don't want you.
It's like if you work for an international hedge fund and you're dealing with Japanese companies. If you don't at least understand some Japanese, why are you even there?
If these scientists predictions are correct.......that gif isn't too far off
I'm just saying that if a certain role requires you to communicate with people who may speak spanish...you probably have to speak spanish in order to do that job effectively. That's not true. Ls don't just add up to Ws. If you can't work you can't work.
It's a farce. I have come across jobs that basically that want Spanish and don't involve international work, and when you look at the hiring manager it's a fukking Mexican or white. The Mexican is just a racist. Asking someone to speak Spanish in this country for most managerial and entry level jobs is ridiculous because these jobs generally serve those who can speak English. The requirement is broadly used to discriminate against non-Hispanics and non-whites. If as many jobs ridiculously required Japanese as require Spanish, I guess no one would be able to work but Asians, right? Well that's what happening.
