You're kidding me? Is this satire? You're telling me since this guy supposedly doesn't have any skills he should go ahead and try to raise a family and live off the government? You've lost your mind bruh.

I disagree with nearly everything you said.

In regards to the 4 year university, it is not necessary to go to a prestigious university for most fields. If you pick a major with good job prospects, you will get hired.

And that actually reminds me of one very important detail I'm surprised no one here has mentioned. Once you transfer to university your GPA starts over! Employers are not going to ask for your GPA at both, they only care about the GPA for the university, and that's if they even ask for the GPA.

Since OP has completed his associates degree, he is likely automatically eligible to transfer to one of his state universities. Do it dude.

Not satire.

What's wrong with him relying on a system of programs that are designed for people like him? Isnt this the purpose of modern progressivism?

Whats better? Working out in the sun all day as a postman just to earn 45k? Or washing dishes for 8 hours and getting 30k (living wage), and then having the government foot the bill on necesities (section 8, snap, etc).

Its takes a lot of work and many years (without income) to get into a good field. why do it? in the pro-worker climate that we have now, it doesn't make sense to go through all that pain anymore.
He has a job already. He should sit back and wait for the final year of Obama's term. as I am sure that the ruling progies will jam as much worker's rights through as they can before his time is up.

The student's GPA doesn't reset after a transfer, and at my firm we look at ALL transcripts and includes JC/community college.

Ya thats why i asked to see how much damage had been done. Truth be told, the GPA isnt the most damaging...its that my dude has no real goal to aim for.
I think the general concentration shouldve been a dead giveaway.

if you like drawing and cars, i would suggest mechanical engineering

also i think the most underrated majors for just cash are the ones in mining and petroleum, i would look into a 4 year in mining or petroluem engineering, you will never be out of a job http://careers.mines.edu/Stu_ChooseMajor.html

then there is the military

and of course there are certs

but mos def get a 4 year, that will allow you to apply for random government jobs that pay well if your major doesnt pan out
Liking cars and drawing are not good reasons to get into mechanical engineering

Especially petroleum engineering. There is nothing about cars and drawing in petroleum engineering.

I do agree that dude should finish with a 4 year degree. He may want to look into graphic design.

I was just throwing out ideas off the top of my head that he could look into, at the end of the day he should persue whatever his passion leads him and for simply intellectually development and increasing knowledge

But as far as just getting a jobby job, petroleum and mining are good majors to get into, they are not usually brought up, that is why is mentioned them

With his GPA, it might be near impossible to get into a in state institution that offers those. And, if by some chance he was accepted...the amount of math and science he would have to deal with to do those would be too much for him based off of what he told us. I am really interested to see what kind of 4 year options in state he can look at. Its kind of fukked up when you think about it. 2.4 GPA at a community college basically deads a lot of avenues a young person can take in life. Someone has to be willing to take a chance on you at that point.

I have a hard time believing you could get into a state school with bellow a 2.8/3.0.

Maybe he could retake the classes he did poorly in at community college to boost his GPA?

I honestly think he should just hang it up though. Give it another go next time around.

It really depends on the state, that's why i'm wondering where dude lives. That would be a good course of action, retaking classes, but it would be pretty expensive. If he has the money, i'd do that as well as taking more credits for another associates and then taking a shout at a uni. That course of action requires patience, money, dedication, and drive though. Homie has dug himself a pretty sizable hole.

:snoop: So I had a dream last night. I did something stupid and got some type of felony....

Then I got put into the system on probation, where cops can pull you over for no reason and fukk with you. Then I woke up and realized. This kid at 25, still has a shot at life. Duke can stll do w/e the fukk he wants. It's like he's truly a second class citizen(convicted felon).

Point is the world needs more educated people period. Duke needs to get back and school and finish up a 4 year degree asap....

Having a felony isn't the end of the world.

This guy really needs to better himself...

I know it's not impossible, but he's got to want it. Idk if that's the case.

there are plenty of places that will let you in with a 2.4, the majority of schools public or private arent that selective, in CA there are 2 separate public university systems, the UC and CSU, but basically anybody can get into a CSU even with a 2.4 gpa

I'm basically in the same situation as the OP except I was able to maintain a 3.4 GPA in my AA in GE :snoop: I know :shaq2:

I'm really interested in getting into IT, I'm studying for my A+ Cert right now I wanna join the Coli 6 cert, 6 figures, 6 PAWG brigade. Do i even need to go back to school and get my bachelor's in IT or should I just focus on certs instead?

Have you taken the math and science necessary for the bachelors?
If you haven't take them at your community college, you'll save money and it will be easier.

I can't remember the computer degree one of my friends got but he ended up getting his dream job in his dream city.
