It's funny cuz I've always considered myself squarely Afram, but technically, I'm mostly not.

Mothers father is from Jamaica while her mother is from Georgia.
My father is from St.Kitts.

Only 1/4 Ados in truth, but i 100% agree with the fundamental truths it's based on.

I still like the idea of Black people in America being one group

We are really starting to split hairs

The islanders got to the islands the same way as we got here, right?

You'd still be ADOS as there was no Caribbean Canadian community until after 1965.
African Nova Scotians are American Descendants of Slavery who fought for semi/fake freedom and came to Canada from the late 1700s to the early 1900s.
A majority black community named Preston, NS still exists.

They have to take issue with the people who brought them to the islands and enslaved them there.
Everybody Black im America was NEVER one group, and contrary to popular belief, the majority of the populous knows the difference.
Our ethnic group and nationality are the same thing...We just call it BLACK for short. WE made that a "thing".
Other people put nationality first. Their flags, their cultures, their diction, their versions of our music, their social mores, AND their prejudices.
Phenotype doesn't equal sameness.
We've established a Black culture for ourSELVES that others like to consume, in more than one way. These consumers don't think like you but they can pretend because you'll welcome them with open arms, despite having nothing but phenotype in common, and barely that: African-descended people have THE MOST genetic variations within the population...on earth. Continental AND diaspora. We "feel" the same because of cultural soft power and the legions of international haterfans come from that, not some ancient mystical drum connection.
AAs weren't even allowed to have drums, now everyone moves to OUR beat. That doesn't mean they're us, and they should take it up with Europe, not us or the USA.
Pan Africanism has a low reciprocity rate, and I don't need the short list of pre-civil rights era outliers of foreign extraction. Those Black folks knew what time it was and acted accordingly. It wasn't remittances, reefer, and reggae...it was RIGHTS and we didn't need the help of people from low population areas who were allowed to trickle into the US.
We've helped them, too.

They're few in number and would be entitled to reparations.
They'd also have to GIVE some.

So many "what abouts" and attempted "gotcha" but it's not enough.

Only half myself. Mom family from Mississippi, but pops DOS from Spanish-speaking territory. :ld: If I get full, Imma keep quiet - but not accepting less than half. :manny:
Get the other half from SPAIN, no reason for any further thought or speculation.
Those countries also owe AAs depending on where you're from, so thanks for reminding me.

*takes note of those admitting they’re not full ADOS in here*
:ld: Take notes, etch it in stone. "Admitting" :heh: okay.
At the end of they day, it's gonna be a LOT more complicated than a full Black who has one parent from the USA and the other parent from some island 100-500 miles off the Florida coast.

U're gonna have HALF-BREEDS, QUARTER-BREEDS, HALF NATIVE-AMERICAN BLACKS, ALL making claims - people with white American mothers/fathers and that's gonna truly make shyt complicated. So many people are going to be DECEPTIVE with a process like this. At least u have Half-ADOS Blacks acknowledging that to be consistent u have to be forthright with their background. :yeshrug:

Hip Hop was preceded by the Jamaican sound clash, tho

So we have to return it if we get divorced?

What if someone were trying to divide the black people up into several smaller warring factions?

Wouldn't this be a great way to do it? All this HYON shyt. Acting like Black people from the Bahamas or Dominican are so totally separate from us, but when I went to DR they thought they knew me from HS

And I am 100% ADOS from the gate. Both side from the NC clay. Seen the land they were sharecropping after slavery

But I look just like them DR niqqas.

Weird huh?

Dont care about you’re talking about, I’m just taking notes for future ADOS threads.

A lot of anti rhetoric from even supposed ADOS will make more sense
