I used to collect comics during the original event and that was about a perfect vision of Apocalypse IMO. My problem was they should've recreated the original 4 Horsemen for them to make sense; Death (Angel), War, Famine, and Pestilence.

I just read through that storyline this past weekend and I can definitely see the influence. I wish I had read it before seeing the movie back in May.

I thought Fassbender and McAvoy were great as always but it pissed me off that Jubilee was barely in it. Also, some of that CGI was Age of Ultron opening scene levels of awful
