Im just not in the business of crying about sh!t i can't control.He will be a lot better than that imo. He has a lot of offensive strengths right now, more than Iggy or Jimmy showed at this point in their careers. Being on an already good team will help him tremendously. I'm so glad he plays hard on D, meaning we ain't gotta worry about Spo not playing him enough.
I think I owe it to yall @Intruder v3.0 but Spo coached the hell out of the Rockets game. That may have been the first time he ever rode the hot hand and overplayed anyone because of results. Props to him.
I just hope this is something he will do more of and not just because his rotation is not set yet. Yall know how he gets with the timed substitutions no matter how the game is going.
IMO you need a bit of both.
Riding the hot hand is the popular and obvious thing to do but it can sometimes come back to bite you in the ass. Especially with aging vets and fragile players on the roster like Wade, Amare, Haslem and Birman. There was an article in SI that described it best when talking abut the game when Lebron cramped up in the finals vs the Spurs. Pop knew that while the Heat was ahead, his best players couldn't keep up in the Heat so he kept them on the bench so they could be fresh when it mattered the most.
That's where the timed substitution come in.
Timed substitution allows you to keep your aging star(s) FRESH for KEY STRETCHES of the game that way when they are on the floor they can go 100% and you get the most out of them.
But for it to work you NEED A BENCH that can KEEP you in games so you can afford to take your aging star out for long stretches and bring him back in to close game.

nvm i forgot all about the TJ.
Haven't always been his biggest fan but Chalmers has played well this year
I'd be highly disappointed if this was a cap saving move (potentially) and not one that would improve the team. The only players on Memphis roster that a straight up trade works for financially are: Tony Allen, VC, Matt Barnes, Udrih, and vet min scrubs. And I dont want any of the 4 aforementioned players.
