You really have a misinformed view of how the industry works. No publishers don't make profit off of every game sold. They have to sale thousands, sometimes millions of games before a game turns a profit. If a lot of the money from those games goes to GameStop then there is no profit. Everything gamers complain about in regards to the games industry, stems from devs trying to recoup some of that money.

i meant they make money off games sold. they may not turn profit, but blaming gamestop is a scapegoat. the problem is devs putting out boring, uninspired games. they expect us to pay retail for a game that we may not like, or will be completed in a few days. when they put out quality products, they make their money back and then some.

look at last of us, it's going to end up selling more than any other ps3 game after the dust settles. now look at undead labs, state of decay is moving units on xbl. how is gamestop stopping them from eating?

You have a breakdown on sales in total for the vita. GS probably looks at that as bonus money, off the books shyt. That is probably like 2-3% of their current business and I think I'm being generous.
I think you guys are giving too much credit to Gamestop. They are not the only ones selling games.

A $5-$10 discount is not out of the question. Gamestop can't control steam sales either and they still sell PC games in stores and online.

Profits have gone way down. Games costed $60 20 years ago and are still the same ,yet the price of everything else has gone through the roof. Profits were margins were so high before that the used games market didn't mater. Now that money is tight for both consumers and the industry used game sales are a big problem for publishers.

Those games are fine. It's the middle of the road games that have the problem. Devs are reluctant to gamble on new ip's or new ideas for the fear of loosing money so they just rehash games and concepts that they know will sale.

you're making this sound like the music industry all over again. :skip:

instead of blaming devs for lack of creativity and putting out Call of Halo #47 . you want to follow their talking points and claim gamestop is the villain.

You see it too right? That's a recipe for disaster if the best you can do is point fingers. You have to learn a better way to do business...this is simple shyt found in courses taken at a community college.

LMFAO @ blaming one single retailer or even worst gamers for trading games over and over again :laff:

Call of duty #47 sales millions of copies. Which is why devs keep making them. The risky diverse games are not being made anymore because devs loose money on them.

no, call of duty and halo sell millions of copies. all their copy clones, or as someone else called them -- "me too, me too!" games, usually end up flopping. which is why M$ got people like you holding pitchforks to gamestop like they're the problem

Why say Halo 47 like if people don't like halo :what:
How about KZ being in existence because Sony wanted its own "halo" then they decided they wanted to turn it into Cod by the time KZ3 dropped. Hey let's do the same for Socom!!!
Resistance was made to combat halo as well, garbage franchise but whatever.
Gears is great, let's make uncharted. After all this happens you want your shytty games to be good so bad you praise them while shytting on the games that inspired the ones you stan :snoop:

They sell abysmal but if you mention that it's "why you talking about sales :sadbron:

I already gave you the starting points and microsoft was too hardheaded to pay attention.

It's not my fault you don't understand business

"communicating your message better" is a rather open ended and obvious suggestion

it's right up there with "don't piss off your customers"

"come up with something better" is not a suggestion guys :comeon:

it's the only realistic option. there were too many games this gen that were obvious re-badged versions of another game. the unreal engine was pimped out too heavy this generation. if a game offers something new and creative to the table, people will buy it.
