He hasn’t really improved much since his rookie year tbh. He just throws the ball more now so his bulk stats are better

The worst thing to happen to him was losing both Pep Hamilton and Shane Steichen after his rookie year. Both really had Herbert looking like he had next, he really hasn’t looked the same since.

I've said the same thing. Not to mention Lynn would've put a better rushing attack together. It's like Baker Mayfield: too many coaches too soon. Next year will most likely be yet again another one.
The fanbase's racist crowd shooed off Lynn and his staff way too early because Herbert made some nice downfield passes after watching Rivers throw ducks later into his career. Would've been better to give him a 2-2.5 years with his first coach, then move to a new system if they started to stagnate.
Not to mention the fickle LA crowd where it's basically an away game every week. Dude would've been
status out in San Diego.

Allen has at least justified his hype with multiple double digit win seasons, playoff wins, and an AFC Championship run and did this with moving parts around him on offense. Herbert hasn't dome any of those to justify the hype other than being tall and white with a good arm...

Herbert is a bum deal with it.
Keenan Allen aint exactly a scrub. Nor is Mike Willams (when he plays
). They just drafted another WR in the 1st round. Palmer does work when others are out. And he got Ekeler. He doesnt get the weapons plea. Got it better than Lamar ever had it before this year and folks were questioning his ability to pass up until this season. There were all kinds of question and hesitation about paying Lamar this offseason. 0 when it came to giving Herbert an even bigger deal after, again, doing less with more. shyt he got it better than Pat. TE is the only position where Pat has an edge.

The way the NFL is set up with the salary cap and free agency, it’s hard for quarterbacks to be consistent.
A lot of QB’s including Mahomes offer get bailed out by their defense, but still get all the credit. The standard is all over the place.
First they have to put up numbers.
Then they have do carry the team if they have a bad defense.
Then even if they put up numbers, they have to make crucial game changing throws all the time.
They gotta deal with roster turnover as well.
