Let me tell you man, I was dating this light skinned girl in high school. The first time I went to her house, her mom was acting funny. Mind you, this girl wasn't mixed just light skinned.

Anyways when we get their and she introduces me to her mom, her mom wouldn't say anything to me and started look at me funny. I ask my girl what the problem is?

She says it's probably cause your dark skinned. My mom doesn't really like dark skinned black people. A few mins later, I hear her and her mom talking in the kitchen and her mom is like "why would you bring him here? I dont want you dating no dark skinned person".

That was the first time I ever encountered true racism in my life because of my skin color and it was from another black person.

I wasn't mad though, and I still was respectful and said bye to her when I left.

I never went back to her house again though, cause her mom told her not to bring me back over. Even if I saw her mom today, I would still say hi and attempt to ask how she is doing.
