This is why that's bs...mike vick REALLY had the eagles losing fans. Had the wife of probably the most loved Phillies baseball player at that time.. Chase Ultey organizing protest outside of the Eagles practice facility.
The Eagles gave zero fukks..all about winning.
Now they care about the fanfare
And this is where reading comprehension is crucial. I specifically made the point that Kaeps talent is outweighed by the controversey. To many teams, he's not worth the financial risk. Maybe it will hurt, maybe it won't...there are no absolutes here.....but they don't know yet and they don't want to find out for a guy who's average and below average at this time compared to a QB who isn't a starter who would play just as average or below without the headache.
Why is that so difficult to grasp?
Besides At the time of Mike Vicks pick up from the Eagles, he had starter talent and was a star....the two aren't comparable. TheEagles got a possible superstar at a bargain bin price. In other words, for the talent and the price, Jeffrey Laurie and Andy Red thought that he was worth it.
If Kaep was a bonafied star or a top 10 QB, he'd have a job IMO. Being ranked 27, and possibly lower, taking a knee during the anthem (multiple times) speaking about controversial political issues after games in the locker room, wearing pig socks with cop uniforms on them and wearing Fidel Castro/Malcolm X shirts at a press conference is not going to get you the job.
I'm not saying that I don't see both sides to it, but with so many different opinions on the subject that's he protesting about, I'm not surprised that teams are opting to pass on him.
Now I do think that there is a chance that a team will take a gamble with him during the season when everyone's attention is on the rest of the league and maybe then he'll come off as less of a distraction. But it's unlikely IMO, unless he starts wowing coaches in practice or something
