Kids don’t know a lot of shyt about dikk nowadays

Wale not the hill to die on but these kids should be getting shytted on for not knowing good music, and this goes beyond hip-hop.

Their music knowledge is like 2015 and up. Imagine having that type of knowledge lol… like you can’t be at the grown up table or even be given the aux cord

When I was 24 I knew of like every rapper that like ever had a platinum record ever. Far before 24 even. How you hang on YouTube, Twitter and Wikipedia all day and not even know a rapper with several hit songs, hypebeast pioneer, signed to Jay-z, Rick Ross, and the list goes on. This is not some obscure Brother Ali

We gotta stop making excuses for people, not everyone is well-read or well-versed in black culture let alone any culture at all. And it’s fi.. nah fukk that they deserve getting shytted on
You gotta keep in mind that this generation is mainly(not all but A LOT of the kids) don't know anything past what's hot right now. I was watching Sinners the other day and was telling one of the people watching it with us, one of my girl's friends that Buddy Guy who play adult Sammie was Shawnna's dad and she had no idea who she was. She hadn't had a hit in years so I understood why she didn't know who she was, but Wale is going on 10+ years as a legacy act almost. He's probably more known as a wrestling fan and sneakerhead than for his music these days. Of course we know who he is because we love hiphop but that also speaks to how hiphop is disposable. We don't honor our legends like we should and far too often they get forgotten. I bet most kids don't know who Prodigy is or Mobb Deep but know of or at least heard the beat for Shook Ones but can't tell you who made it. I watched one of those "kid's listen to" for the 1st time and it made me sad how they didn't know who any of the artists were. That's just where we are now as a society.

You're not wrong though, it doesn't take much to learn about the culture, youtube is made for that kind of thing, but if you don't actively seek it out, it's not gonna be consumed by these young kids for the most part.

The fact that this kid has a platform and there’s a group of people who actually value his opinion, find him to be entertaining or “talented” is on any level is something I will never understand…and I am okay with that.

Why y’all keep saying No Hands? What club is playing that in 2025? Stop capping.

And that shyt ain’t even his song and Kai Cenat was a 9 year old when that shyt came out.

Most ppl are not that deep into music like that they listen to their algorithm, what’s viral, what’s cool in their friend groups growing up, what’s top 40, what’s popping locally from the young nikkas.

You think Wale was getting played where 18 year olds frequent in 2019?

All these songs are oldies atp

There are a lot more rappers now. Also, none of what you said means someone should know who Wale is

I bet Kai knows rappers that your never heard of
We all know rappers people in this thread never heard of lol. I’m just gonna leave it there because I’m not going to argue anything for Wale. These 2010 era fans just care about maybe 5 rappers even though there’s a bunch out here and that’s just crazy to me. Saying a dude was only 11 as an excuse to say they don’t know such and such rapper is just hilarious to me :russ:

Wale did not have an impact on rap where you should know who he is. Wale doesn’t have a single sole song that became a hit

Wale’s peak was damn near 15 years ago

And like I said earlier there’s a lot more rap out now. So comparing what you consumed is pointless

His debut flopped harder than Lebron. What are you talking about? :mjlol:

in what world was Ambition a flop? or even The Gifted for that matter…
Ambition wasn’t his debut, it was “Attention Deficit,” and the only thing I remember about that album is that Cole had the best verse on the whole album. :pachaha:
