With the schools having to chip in on NIL now, I don't think teams make crazy buyouts anymore, or at least they're more hesitant to do so. Whoever their current AD is probably needs that hire to work out or he may get axed too...they'll give him one more yr$70 million buyout he’s not going anywhere
That was Saban's biggest power too. Bama has boosters as crazy as ours, but Saban was using em like a foot stool by his 2nd-3rd year. That's probably the real spot where hiring DeBoer wasn't a great choice - you may have been better served finding the best Saban acolyte who could've had built in good will with them. After OU last year, the fan base didn’t trust him but Saban was still backing him up in house
After this, The boosters will definitely be on his ass and want their hands on the program again
The school will give him one more year if he wins 9+ this year, but with the Boosters in control again he won’t have a fighting chance.
The amount of people that don’t realize Saban was punking those boosters hardcore telling them “You cut checks and shut up, I’ll recruit and coach.” A lot of programs are hampered by the same thing everyone sees the Dallas Cowboys going through. That was Saban's biggest power too. IDK he comes off as someone who cares more about his football coaching career then getting out splurging bumpin must be the money in his carHe don't give a fukk, he getting generational wealth if they fire him.
I was thinking the same shyt. The WAC 12 is incredibly weak when playing out the soft ass conference. You really brought a coach out there to fukking coach in the SEC.Dude ain't cut out for the SEC...idk wtf Bama was thinking bringing some west coast p*ssy shyt to the deep south.
He gonna have to pull a Ryan Day this season or he's getting canned
Bama won't be back til they find some coach named Granite SteelHe ain't got a masculine enough name to lead young men.
Kaylin is a ditzy white girl name. no disrespect to his people, fam or culture...but nah. He need a coaching name.
Kendrick DeBoer should be his coaching name. Or Eric-Bishop DeBoer. Brehs could play for something like that.

There’s a damn bank named after Bear Bryant. I’ve never heard of any other fb coach having that much juiceThe amount of people that don’t realize Saban was punking those boosters hardcore telling them “You cut checks and shut up, I’ll recruit and coach.” A lot of programs are hampered by the same thing everyone sees the Dallas Cowboys going through.
The two greatest periods of Alabama football coincided with coaches who controlled the boosters. Bear Bryant would tell them “Give me a piece of your business and I’ll take your word under consideration” then come back and say “Hey, it’s not gonna work. But maybe we can convince the school if you cut a check”
They been itching to gain some sort of control back since they thought he was done after losing to Auburn, no SECCG, and then losing to OU in 2019. They wanted DeBoer. No doubt about it.
It’s actually named for his son, who he got into banking after he got a cut in one from a booster. Then his son walked out of college started a bank (with the help of some boosters) and sold it to what is now Regions Bank. There’s a damn bank named after Bear Bryant. No disrespect to the west coast homies, it was regarding football specifically. He could pull this shyt in Washington and be gucci but it won't fly in the SEC
