I cried real tears looking at this interview. The thing about it, this shyt has been happening for DECADES!! I've read literature by Donald Goines, Huey Newton, George Jackson and recently Iceberg Slim and they all describe the conditions of jail (county) being a complete shyt hole. Violent behavior towards inmates by correctional officers, violence amongst inmates, questionable food practices, etc. Then to top it off a good deal of the population haven't been charged with a crime!! I just finished reading PIMP by Iceberg Slim yesterday and it was like the words in the book were coming to life in this kid's interview.
In the case of the US criminal justice system vs. Black people we are fukking losing!! They get us coming and going!! $1000 to let you go for something you didn't do or x amount of dollars to keep you for something you didn't do. His family shouldn't have had to put up a dime! They had no evidence, he shouldn't have been arrested in the first place or at least let out on his own recognizance.

The police shouldn't have put him in jail and let the guards abuse him.
The teens which are his peers shouldn't have jumped him in there
His parents shouldn't have let him sit in there for 3 years without bail.
