Obama and Biden are not friends. Obama picked Biden for the same reason Biden picked Harris: it’s a strategic pick in order to target a specific demographic. Remember Obama refused to endorse Joe Biden until after he won the primary despite Biden being his VP for 8 years.

That was a strategic move that Biden took personally. You saw how hard MAGA was going at Biden's family for the past 6 years, there's no way in hell he would've been able to handle that level of scrutiny right after his son died. He could barely keep himself together by all accounts.
