if you can't seem the similiarities between a successful drug dealer and being a business man (also the transition from drug money into legal money) then you just don't have the mentality to be successful or a boss.

I think people are confusing someone being loud as someone making more of a difference. You want to see a man who is crushing business and entertainment? That's Jay-z. For every whiny 'they took my words out of context' lines we get from Kanye we get major business moves from Jay-z. You tell me what is thumbing your nose to racist white people more....roughing up paparazzi or starting companies that generate millions?

Yeah but the same similarities exist between being a successful record exec and being a good business man..But being the president of Def Jam doesn't sound as "cool" as being a dope boy.. Even if its a position of more accomplishment and responsibility... What appears to be clear is that as a 44 year old man Jay still sees being a drug dealer as something "cool" or to be proud of...
Also the "drug dealing made me good at budgets" logic can also be used by a 10 year old that started a lemonade stand to save for a bike... But again, thats not as sexy as being a drug dealer...
But out of respect for Jay and his contribution to the culture I'm going to wait to read the full statements in context before passing total judgment...

i would say that the difference between lemonade stand and drug dealing has more to do with the amount of money you'r edealing with and not the sexiness of it.
