I'm just going to say this. We all know Jay was a drug dealer...but at 40 something years old with several successful business ventures under his belt, he doesn't need to refer to it to show that he can be successful in business.

He can get away with saying that kind of thing because of who he is. If I went to job interviews for business positions and interviewers asked me "why would be good in this position" and I answered that with "cause I used to be a drug-dealer"...no one would want to hire me at all.

Why is Jay Z being thrown under the bus to prop Kanye? Why does one have to be pitted against the other? In all fairness, there's no way you can big up Kanye as a revolutionary and denounce Jay in the same sentence without being a hypocrite. Kanye and Jay basically move in the same circles. People accuse Jay Z of being "euro Jay" saying he's "acceptable", a "house negro" and that he wants approval of White America, well the same is true of Kanye:

I want Kanye stans/fans to spin and explain these statements and actions:

Exhibit A:
"I see artists like Beyonce and Alicia Keys and Rihanna and Chris Brown and Chris Martin all in the same room and we're going to push this music to the point where it was like in the 1960s and '70s where you talk about Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles. We will be the new Beatles. We will be the new Hendrix. They say in any other industry, you know, you're supposed to do better than the past ... but when you say, 'I want to be Elvis,' they say, 'What's wrong with you?' Well, I wanna be Elvis."

Exhibit B:
"I can't believe she would perform. She hasn't had a hit record in years." After his performance is relegated to a Las Vegas suite instead of the VMA main stage, he's filmed backstage complaining. "Give a black man a chance. They don't want a fukkin' black man in that position." He vows he will "never return to MTV."

^^^ He's performed at every MTV Awards since.

Exhibit C: "My biggest inspiration and biggest competition is Justin Timberlake," the 29-year-old rapper tells XXL magazine in its October issue, on newsstands Sept. 11.

"If Justin hadn't come out and killed the game, I can't say that my album, singles and videos would be on the same level that they're on," he says. "We push each other. I look at me and Justin like Prince and Michael Jackson in their day."

In his raps, he talks about his drug dealing past in a more reminiscent way. He basically just said that he is still a drug dealer to Cacs. Rap is encoded in slang. He pretty much blunted stated that he is nothing more than a Uncle Tom who sold poison to his own people. This is whom you glorify? This is suppose to be Black excellence? :snoop:
Have you heard of trap music?

Putting a Black/hip hop face on the gentrification takeover of Brooklyn isn't thumbing your nose toward racist white people...It's doing their bidding for them...

Neither Ye or Jay-Z are a threat to the white supremacy structure of this country...They are both controlled by it...

How because they used Jay-z in the planning for Barclay? That was to generate buzz for the team. Not to give a black face to gentrification.

I never said a legit thread, I simple asked who really is doing something...Kanye or Jayz? Because Jay-z continues to prove his astute business sense while Kanye just complains.

They're not confusing anything at all. They like who they want to like & hate who they want to hate & will twist anything they see or hear to make sure it remains that way. They're just grabbing at straws to justify their stance that's all. Subjectivity at it's finest

True. Can't really argue that and that is what it looks like.
