His rants, however are going to make headlines and trend because it generates debate, divisiveness, and discussion in general. Kanye WANTS that attention (backlash and all). He's done this since he stepped from behind the boards and became an artist. When you have a person who is out here saying "Harriet Tubman didn't free slaves", "slavery is a choice" and him wearing MAGA hats, and talking about his wife wanting to abort their first child, its going to grab more attention than any charitable act short of physically risking life to save another.

Until his rants no longer keep a news cycle going, he will continue making controversial statements for the sake of appearing controversial.
