I think when he acts out, he's just acting stupid. We make mistakes. Personally, I don't think he does it to sell albums, but maybe I'm wrong. I always sensed something genuine about him.

He's just speaking about his struggle. I'm not sure that he entirely supports people piggybacking on "rap culture" because it happens to be a lucrative market for artists.

It's difficult for him to break into fashion because he's not creating a label that caters to the hip hop audience, per say. Not to say that everyone who listens or appreciates hip hop dresses the same, because they don't...but look at Jay-Z or Puffy....they did well when they marketed items that were in line with what people identified to be "hip hop fashion." Diddy tried to break out into more high fashion and to my knowledge, didn't do so successfully.

My thing about him acting out is that that is very consistent with Kanye's past demeanor. That is how he has always acted. Talib Kweli said that when he brought him on tour, he would come out during Talib's set and just start rapping completely interrupting him. Do you know or remember the story of him performing and there was no one paying attention to him. He climbs on a balcony and yells that people will remember this as the time they saw Kanye before he became a star. These instances are not what I would call keeping it real but they are consistent.

With his struggle to break into fashion he brought up the lack of Yeezy support after all the money was made and said he wanted to make school uniforms. Keeping it real would be saying F nike and making the uniforms himself. I understand wanting their financial backing because that's just good business but there is no semblance of keeping it real by just saying that you want to do these things.

Him hollering about Givenchy being in the hood because of him is silly. Black people need less of that and more positive and proper examples of prioritizing properly. His struggle is largely unique especially with the other examples you brought in Jay-Z and Puffy. Like I said, acting out with good intentions is just that. Them fashion cats is gatekeeping like no other because that is there life but Kanye and Miley are coming together for the Black Skinhead remix. Keep keeping it real Ye.

Kanye used to be such an artist to me, I just have so many mixed feelings about what he has evolved into.

He acts like a douchebag sometimes, but that doesn't mean he isn't intelligent or that he doesn't speak the truth...I just think the way he chooses to convey his message is usually not the best way (he can be impulsive and he lets his frustrations get the best of him). He brought up some very good points in this interview.
