He's right. People are finally paying for music again instead of pirating, and then the services release exclusives what leads to people pirating again. I pay 10 a month for my Spotify account, but still had to download Views, Pablo and Major Key illegally to name a few to listen to them upon release. It's fukking up the game

there's no way he's selling it at a loss. we'll see if apple or samsung buys it before jay openly puts it on the market, though.
This. Jay has too much pride to throw the towel in like that. As long as Kanye & Bey & other top selling artists drops exclusives to Tidal first he's gonna be good. But that don't equal customers to stay after the free trial. I sure the hell didn't.

Considering Jay-Z started Tidal so that celebrities would get their fair share, wouldn't it be hypocritical for him to sell it? Or is Apple letting artists take control?

We'll see.

guarantee you. the artists signed to jay gives him leverage over most streaming companies, outside of spotify and apple music, but honestly, i think spotify is his biggest comp and not apple. with 1 billion iphones sold - apple has solidified their streaming service and that number gives them heavy pull in and outside of their ecosystem because apple music is available everywhere. but there's literally no way on earth he'll sell it for a loss.

i don't even have it downloaded but he's pulling in better numbers than they were doing before he bought it. the artists he has will be tied to a tidal exclusive launch and will boost subscribers every year probably. that's enough for people to get involved. i can see apple buying it so they can outright destroy spotify.

And how is this Apple's fault? Jay bought a company, attempted to compete, and is failing because consumers said "No free tier? :camby:20 bucks a month for 'HiFi audio' that I can't differentiate from regular streaming audio? :camby:"

"Please Mr. Cook, cut my friend (and me, and a bunch of other musicians that cried broke when launching this) a check because we bit off more than we could chew. Do it for the kids!" :to::sadbron::sadcam:
