Great points. Other commentators are looking at this at the surface level. Minority owners of Tidal may not admit it over there but they have to be losing plenty money. Especially Beyoncé. That's why she had the tour planned before dropping that album. CDs and download sales are falling and riding for her husband is causing her to lose big money via streaming so she had to tour.
Ye is saying it without saying it.
I get Jay Z's gamble which was he thought all these artist-owners' fans were going to transfer over to them. It backfired.
Thats for the lowdown on why Beyonce decided to tour. What is Blue eating for breakfast this morning?
Tidal is reportedly on 4.2 million subscribers with 45% on the hifi option. Thats a good growth rate for a relatively new independent streaming company. Apple, like all dominant players before it will have its day. Are they even the biggest selling smartphone maker on the planet?
Smartphone Vendor Market Share, 2015 Q2
The worldwide smartphone market grew 13.0% year over year in 2015 Q2, with 341.5 million shipments, according to data from the International Data Corporation (
IDC)
Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker. This growth is primarily due to gains experienced in emerging markets such as APEJ and MEA. This quarter's shipments were slightly lower than forecast and IDC expects to see a noticeable slowdown in smartphone shipments in 2015 as China joins North America and Western Europe in a more mature growth pattern. Android dominated the market with an 82.8% share in 2015 Q2. Samsung reasserted its global leadership with a renewed focus on lower-cost smartphones.
