No... but his influence on dresscode/subject matter changed the course of this genre of music....

Pac is dead, his legacy and influence cannot grow beyond what they are already. It's cemented and over with.

Kanye is still alive and who knows what could happen ?

ye will admit it himself, they won't let him in the fashion industry. ive never met anyone in real life who looks up to the way ye dresses. i mean he was talking about leather pants or some shyt :scusthov:

idk what suburb you live in but nobody gives a fukk about kanye around here, meanwhile i see people rocking tupac tribute tats on the daily. i still hear people bumping his music.

honestly hip hop lost if you really think ye is comparable to pac on any level :snoop:

Breh, Kanye West is definitely a fashion icon, he starts wearing APC, Visvim, Comme Des Garcon, and Maison Martin Margiela, then suddenly those brands become some of the most name dropped brands in rap music, i'm definitely not saying he's the biggest thing in fashion, that would be crazy, but he definitely has influence.

I didn't say you have to look up to him...fact is nobody wears that baggy sh!t anymore because he made dressing tight/fitted clothing acceptable. Nobody goes OD on that goon shyt because he made it acceptable to be yaself not be some stereotypical persona....yeah you can embellish the truth a little but not everybody is about that life...Whether its for better or worse is irrelevant...he still did it

This also launched the current crop of rappers aka the new school...he fathered all these n!ggas

Show us the music careers Tupac helped launch.....I'll wait.

Again Tupac is dead and his icon status isn't up for debate. And based on your benchmarks I'm not too convinced breh...it's like me saying when is the last time you heard about tupac on any radio, public media ?

that's the case with all rappers tho, Ye didn't start that, and he isn't the best at it.

we could say the same for pac as a matter of fact, rappers still talking about versace :scusthov:

bruh :why:

I never said he started doing that first, and I don't know how you can be "the best" at name dropping/putting people on Fashion brands, but in the last 10 years, he's definitely put more people onto fashion brands than any other rapper, considering he was blogging about most of those brands in like 08

Ye is not responsible for killing the baggy jean era, the fashion industry is :stopitslime:

I also didn't hear Ye on the radio with his last album, and the only time he makes the media is when he acts a fool. The benchmarks for Pac have already been stated. When Kanye has a group of rebels in africa naming themselves after him, get back to me :pachaha:

People are getting mixed up. There's a difference between popularity and influence. Pac is more popular and beloved globally than Ye, but more influential?

No way you can tell me there is any rapper in history who has influenced the genre as much as Kanye. He birthed a whole era of conscious/backpack/nerd rap that is still churning out rappers 10 years later. He flipped the script and put out 808s, which pop music is JUST NOW catching up to. Give it few more years and everything on the radio gon sound like MBDTF. In 6 or 7 years that everybody gon be rocking that Yeezus sound.

To bite one of his own lines.. Yeezy is ahead of his time, sometimes years out. At least musically. And fashion-wise there's nobody that comes close to the influence he has. He revived the Jordan brand, then put out a rival Nike shoe (as a musician, not an athlete mind you), that actually became hotter and more sought after than the Jordans. What other person on the planet could do that?

"You cant be a bigger rapper than Tupac" - Kanye West

Ye my nikka, my favorite rapper ever, and imo in terms of music made he's the greatest rapper ever, but Pac influenced everyone ever, he's probably the most decorated and beloved rapper ever

Pac influenced the GOAT Ice Cube?
