New flash, a lot of artist don't write every song they've ever made.

Don't understand that last critique, because that's exactly how he got known in the first place.
In Hip Hop you're generally expected to write your songs or have a large hand in writing your songs.
As in someone else can come up with the hook, someone else can make the beat,
someone else can sing/rap the hook, etc. but ultimately it's supposed to be "your song"
and thus you should have done the lion's share of the work.

Producer rappers like ye, dre and diddy are given some leeway since producing is
their expertise but if the rapper/producer isn't really doing anything like they assume for
Kanyethen people think there really isn't a point in giving Kanye praise for what comes
out of those sessions.

I honestly have no idea how much is or isn't written by Kanye but I think I'd be disappointed if he
was basically hands off the entire project, only to come in and finish the album by walking into the studio to rap over someone else's rough drafts.

On the low rap has pass him by... He just doesn't have a feel for what's hot now or what's next.

For all the praise Ye got for the sound of WTT.. Jay knows how to make rap that is current

I disagree about the Kardashian but can't ignore it
i'd rather listen to yeezus than that garbage MCHG

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I think if he gave people what they wanted - another Graduation or Dark Fantasy type record - he'd do well. Instead he's basically doing what everyone else is doing, which goes against the appeal he once had of being different.

All Day reminds me of MCHG in terms of just feeling not authentic. Leave that shyt to the kids and make actual music, breh...
what's funny is he told y'all he don't give a fukk about his old sound... but that he could do it whenever he felt like it

that's the "hidden" meaning of his intro on yeezus

"you know how much i don't give a fukk? let me show you right now 'fore you give it up"

then he drops an old style beat... gives you about 4 bars of it.. then goes back to the yeezus sound

basically saying i don't give two fukks if you like this... but before you quit.... yea i still got it nikka... but nah fukk that... i wanna do this

then he came out in that other interview with zane like "yeezus was just me experimenting with drums since thats my worst quality"

he's basically just out there fukking around... playing with new sounds... seeing what he can do... but knowing people will buy it so why not make money off it.. really half this shyt could be on mixtapes as practice, while he only releases the hits.... but that's kanye for you

aside from a few weak tracks, yeezus was his best album, kanye needs to stay far away from making traditional rap music because that is not his forte at all

ummm, and who does?

There is no "sound" right now in rap. There's hit singles of differing variety, but nobody has any particular sound on lock.

And yet,all he has to do is drop an album an watch people pucker up...Ye has a large black following but let's not pretend that those are the people that buy the music..Ye is carried by large cac following that will actually put dollars in his pocket,Wifing up Saint Heaux only sollidified that position with cacs.As far as creativity goes I applaud him for Yeezus since no other mainstream artist is willing to take artistic risks like that, that album might put people off as far as sonics, bit at least he has the balls to do it..a rare feat these days

he had his run and what a run it was but things have changed :yeshrug:

kanye ain't really focused on this music shyt no more, no more then he has to be in order to use it as 2 things

1. it's a money thing for his fashion line
2. to have a venue and platform to advertise his fashion

plus bruh done got married, started a family and got another baby on the way. bruh ain't thinkin' bout this music shyt no more than he has to in order to keep the cash flow goin' for the lifestyle he and his family live along with future endeavors. but that passion and inspiration he had years ago ( mid 90's til like the late 2000s) for music is gone. fashion is at the forefront and the music is on the back burner

hey, it is what is :manny:
