and that's why i'm saying it's impossible to get that perfect mix from a hip-hop star right nowThe Hip Hop artists who would draw those kinds of crowds are still putting out music that people are paying money for. They don't have to do residencies. It's not necessarily about them moving 100 million records. There's other living artists who belong to that 100 million+ club, but don't have residencies. Some of them are still putting out music that sells more than what a Britney Spears and Celine Dion album would sell combined worldwide if they released an album now. One of those artists is a rapper.
Furthermore, a lot of people who cop the top sellers by Hip Hop artists aren't necessarily Hip Hop fans. It's not like Britney's target audiences are her core fans either. The songs and albums that were huge were big with teeny boppers who are grown-ups now
Breh hes trying to do deals with Prada and Louis Vuitton.
How would that look if he has performing in Vegas on his resume?
Snoop could get something very close to that if he went the Vegas residency route. IMO he should be the first rapper to do a residency; lives only a few hours away, has the catalog, isn't a diva, doesn't take himself too seriously. Makes too much sense.
Celine Dion =/= Kanye West
Celine Dion has a perception of a past prime artist living off of legacy.
The only exception to this rule is the one Beyonce did. Vegas is not a place you want to be seen performing if youre a current artist.
You do the long term residency for security when you're on the wrong side of your career. Doesn't leave much time for making new music and exploring other ventures when you're tethered to Vegas 3 nights out of the week.

1. they gotta have/had move major units.. america and international
2. they gotta be at a point where being in vegas for 150 days doesn't hurt their careers
3. they gotta have a live SHOW that's an actual show and not a concert
4. they can't have a violent or hood element that'll get the shyt shut down in 3 weeks
there's plenty who have 2 or 3 of those.. i can't see jay-z doing a show with bytches twirling around and pogo dancers and shyt.. i could see diddy doing that but can diddy pack a house 150 nights... i could see ye but ye got a career.. 3000 definitely but he act like he don't even want to do music anymore so i doubt he does 1000 shows and would he actually pack the house to the tune of 475k a day..
there's a lot of factors.. and until i see a rapper say yes and pull it off.. i'm sticking with nobody is gonna do that shyt
Artists that do Vegas residency are seen as something to check out once you finished hitting the slots. You dont want to do that when you are in your prime.
i mean it's just a simple fact... people are asking which rappers can do it... people actually asked if britney is really successful with this shytpeople book their entire Vegas trips around seeing Britney Spears / Celine Dion
just type #vegas in twitter a few times a day "ill see you soon britney!" you'll see it multiple times a day
yall so outta touch with reality its damn near sickening..

you think they'd give her a raise to 475k a show if it wasn't successful? if it wasn't constantly sold out? if they weren't making way more than 475k back?
you think if there was a list of rappers that could do this shyt... that they wouldn't offer it up? that they wouldn't put it out in the world? that nobody would take up the offer to make damn near 1.5 million a week??
if it was profitable, there'd be 1000 stories of rappers getting offers... not just 1.. i mean shyt they offered it to Ye and didn't even offer the shyt to jay-z who sells more and is more famous
funny how this article comes out HOURS after we were talking about this in the original thread tho![]()
