Thinking about this whole “album-exclusive to the stem player” mess. A botched rollout like this is reason why record companies/labels still have artists balls in a vice. No coordination, no planning, nothing but missteps and fukkery.
It pisses off listeners, and it hurts other artists who legitimately want to cut out the labels. Botched disasters like this can be discouraging for others who truly want to be independent and want to make mistakes that might irritate their fan base.
I’d like to any big name in Hip shop attempting this to succeed at being a truly independent, but labels don’t believe artist can seriously pull it off.

The craziest thing is I think he knows he's peaked creatively and realizes this is how he keeps his brand on top
