The reality is Kanye and most artists probably don't make much from album sales and streaming so I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't release anything on CD. Def Jam on the other hand is probably like . They must of lost a shytload of money on TLOP

In all seriousness a lot of cats are starting to go the vinyl and digital only route. Stones Throw and Rhymesayers are 2 of the largest indie labels in hip-hop and they've been having a lot of success with vinyl. Alchemist just started ALC Records and is only releasing vinyl and digital. Vinyl sales for music in general are higher than they've ever been.

Nobody wants CDs anymore. Vinyl is still sort of a niche audience but it's bigger than a CD audience. I've actually heard some artists are releasing stuff on cassette, trying to bring that back. I don't think that will do as well though.
