Is McDonalds racist? Cause I met a racist working at McDonalds.
Is the technology industry racist? Cause black people are underrepresented.

Stop breh. You are really playing yourself right now. Go read Tetris 2.0 post.

7% of models are black, less than 7% of Europe is black, so technically black models are overrepresented restricting fashion to Europe. Does not seem like a racist business. Even if I was talking about the industry and not models. Economically, you've seen a growth in Asian models according to the rise in Asian consumers of highend fashion, it's kind of simple mathematics.

You are so naive, I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head.

As for your Asian comment, you do realize that 'round eyes' and 'light skin' in Asian culture is well liked because of this same industry. I don't want to go into detail on what that says, I don't think I need to.

But are motherfukkers supposed to NOT engage in what they enjoy cause there are a few racists? Tell that to Jackie Robinson, tell that to Chuck Cooper and all those dudes. Tell that to Thurgood Marshall, tell that to Obama. Dude wants to make clothes, is he supposed to be a c00n an say "no no no, white people tell me I can't do this". I'm done, I respect that you have your opinion.

For the thousandth time, I never said he can't take part in it and he can't rap about what he wants.

You however cannot pretend to be against the very things you support.

I can't confirm anything you've said through my interest, friends or loose research but whatever.

It's clear that even if you did, you would find a way to spin it.

Very rich white people have a long history of looking down on minorities but somehow, just in this industry, it doesn't and hasn't happened? :usure:

Most of the big companies are owned by major conglomerates that anyone can invest in. Most of the companies are also started by shoemakers, fashion freaks, craftsmen and shyt like that, not royalties or old money or whatever you are talking about. Royalties and "old money people" were however clients.

Only a few brands are "old money" like Givenchy, which is now owned by LVHM and their creative director designs hiphop covers for Kanye and Jiggaman on the side.

Im talking about high-end runway fashion though Harry. Not so much the trendier "this month" brands. But I do see your point, there are a lot of smaller start-up businesses and more organic enterprises, however Kanye is not really concerned with that. At the top of the pyramid sits the same old farts and Kanye seems to be very concerned with what they think. I get it, hes a perfectionist and he wants to be the best, and among the best....

But it just seems dumb to have any sort of "militancy" or rebelliousness about you, when you orient yourself around such disposable and irrelevant things

To me, if Kanye truly cared, he'd stop and say "Honestly, why the fukk do I care what Vera Wang thinks? Why is this something to strive for??" But he doesnt. He adores that shyt. Good for him, cause at the end of the day, if he makes good music I'm cool with it.

But to give the illusion that youre encouraging people to think-outside-the-box, when your perception of style and beauty and perceived-success is confined to a cell, and basically dictated by people that would have you giving them a backrub and pedicure if they were still allowed to, is retarded.
So for Kanye to care? Or for you to respect him.
He has to disagree with Vera Wang, even though he loves her sense of fashion?
He has to think that clothes are not presented in the best way by thin, tall girls contrary to what everyone has been saying for decades like he's smarter and better than all these people?

That doesn't even make sense.

While he's at it he might as well go and tell the world that Jordans are the ugliest sneakers ever.

What do you think I'm talking? I'm talking about Chanel, Prada, LV, Gucci, Valentino, Lanvin, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, brands that have been here for a very long time (and some a bit shorter, but still in the highest of high). Valentino for example designs dresses for queens and princesses and worked for years in small leather shops, local designers and on before he reached his dreams.

Youre completely missing the point and I shouldnt even respond.

THEY DONT MATTER. They are a distraction and a vacuum of insecurity, elitism, privilege, wasted money, asinine mentalities etc etc. People give these idiots power and for what? Isnt that a great place to take a stand?!

He can like whatever he wants, but to act like he's rebelling against the system when he is adhering to a very strict and shallow mentality is horsehit. He wants to say "fukk radio, fukk consumeristic America and those holding him down" but he wants these idiots to think he looks PRETTY in his leather T-shirt

Jaimee Foxx said the first time he and Ye performed Gold Digger infront of an all white crowd that Ye turned to him with so much joy and pride in his eyes and said..

"Look man we finally made it"

:krs:

and Jamie's response was

:what:

That's why the whole pro Black Kanye defenses always make me chuckle...HE doesn't even believe what his fans constantly try to defend...

It's an interest, some people like golfing, some like fishing, some like eating high end burgers, some like watching sports, some like watching sports live, some like betting on horses, some people like fashion, some people like art and the list goes on. It makes people happy and they feel good doing these things.

Btw
Where does he say fukk consumerism? He's saying that corporations can't control him and also saying that he's somewhat controlled, but he doesn't want to be controlled.
Again back to the infinite shades of grey.

Anyways like I said before, I don't know Kanye West personally so I'm not gonna try and mix the discussion abut his music and his personality.
And I can't have these simple discussions, where everything is black or white like I said in this post

Yep, shyt is too much black or white, throwing the infinite shades of gray in between in the bushes.
If he's pro-black, he must be completely anti-white or at least be Malcolm X.
If he's mad at corporations, he must be completely against everything corporations do forever (and in the past he should've been against everything they do as well).
If he like designing, he must be a c00n dikkriding cac designers.
If he loves fashion, he must be promoting people to consume excessive amounts of fashion.

I don't get these things cats say, I know my life isn't that simple so I damn sure assume that Kanye's is a hell lot more complex.

Not all hobbies are the same...:pachaha: should I really be responding?

Okay I will. Choosing to KNIT or play Game Boy on your spare time, and collecting high-end fabrics in the ultimate, and insatiable, pursuit of self-worth in the fashion world, are COMPLETELY different hobbies dude :dead:

Some sing, some dance eh? Some collect stamps and some pop mollies.

fukk me, Im done here :heh:

He's a great talent, but he's delusional as all hell, because (I too dont know him personally), but I think HE thinks that hes actually making a difference out there...

Regarding the hobbies of course they are different, but people should always maximize their happiness and all like different things. Fashion is more of a vice, than a hobby, yes. So are watches that tell time worse than a burner (but certain people appreciate fine craftsmanship and maximize their enjoyment by owning it). That people who aren't financially capable to own these stuff, own them, is bad. But if you can afford it, why not?
If it makes you feel good and harms nobody, better yet employs people.

Is buying fashion as bad as illegally downloading music on forums? I don't get how one can be so invested in hating fashion, the luxury of having a nice life ha.

I also find it interesting that cats didn't say shyt when he was on THE EXACT same steeze back in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007. when he had several songs addressing similar topics.
And even though all rappers are hypocrites (besides maybe Gucci and Waka Flocka Flame), specially social conscious ones. I'll never catch you dudes criticizing your favorite rapper for the exact same shyt

Just yesterday I wrote that I fear Ghostface may have fallen off. I clown and rip on Nas all the time on here. Drake is hilarious unintentional comedy, yet he makes some of my favorite music right now.

Cognitive dissonance breh, its a beautiful thing :blessed:

I partly agree.

However, there is still a framework in place and if you want to succeed, you generally have to follow that framework. You can say hey, while I'm on this road to riches, I'm gonna do it my way but of course there are the gatekeepers and there are the experts. Some people are just experts at what they do. So you can't say Kanye should be against everyone who works at Prada even though he admires many of them for their art. It's similar to an apprenticeship. Yes, the system as a whole is extremely elitist but a black man from chicago has broken the barriers and gotten into the system and is trying to learn from those he can while at the same time expose those who try to keep him out of the system. It seems pretty much like any warrior's quest/journey that I've read in countless books. It could be Don Quixote in the flesh lol.
