Nah man, what I think people don't get is the sense of entitlement. At the end of the day Steve Jobs and Wozniak started Apple in a garage. Kanye has already experienced the pinnacle of success in his field and appears like he thinks that entitles him to a certain head start in a different industry. As it turns out, those with the $ and power in those industries are simply saying "we don't believe you, you need more people."

We can relate to the frustration, but playing it out publicly is a little embarrassing at times.

U seem to be the only nikka who gets it. That would be like Marc Jacobs tryna get a record deal with good music just because of who he is

He makes some good points about the way society is. He can clearly identify these issues what does he plan on doing about it.
A lot of what Kanye expects to get done is cause he is Kanye and less about, what he has done. Honestly I think its good he wants more out of his career but, how has he really proved himself in fashion. What has he produced besides the sneakers that anyone here has really wanted. What has Donda Design produced since its inception? What projects have they done? I am sure he has good ideas but we are seeing no follow through.

Yall analyze and pontificate it really aint that deep...

Kanye is trying to leverage his fame and success in one industry to get it popping in another industry. The heads of the new industry are like don't call us, we will call you when we feel you got something you can bring to the table. Kanye is trying to throw a tantrum to build up so much interest that he can weasel his way into the business. I ain't mad at that, but i also ain't waving the flag and supporting it... I like most of Kanye's fans could care less, and honestly pay less on rent or mortgage than a Louis Vuitton Kanye West shirt or pants, or jacket or handbag would cost... its just irrelevant to his core fanbase... so he is throwing away his core fanbase to try to get in with a new base, we aint mad, we just like go ahead man...

But, he got it confused, the hip hop industry is a whore, it spreads its legs for everyone for a quick hit... Miley wants in, she in its cool, and in 2 years when she has 'matured' and dont need that angle anymore she will go back to her pop country roots... Kanye is confused cause he is used to seeing that so he dont understand why the High Fashion industry isn't like 'Kanye can make us hot for a couple seasons spread your legs'. The high fashion industry is like dude people pay $9,000 for a dress that costs $200 bucks to make because our brand is so powerful, we are not fukkin with that for a sales bump for a couple seasons... What has Kanye done in the fashion world? Does he know how to sew and produce the dresses? Has he worked under a master for a decade? Has he come in and through shear power of his designs taken over fashion shows and brought attention to collection? Has he joined a house that lost its luster and revitalized it with his designs and vision? NO dude got rich, hired a couple of designers to actually design a few pieces based on his general direction, and used his fame to set up a couple cross promotion deals. Thats it... You know how many nouveau riche folks try to buy and hype there way into the high fashion industry every year? what makes kanye different?

There is already a path for Kanye, he got money and fame... go take 30 mill of your own money, get another 20 mill from your rich friends... open your OWN boutiques, with your own designs, rock that for 10 years blow that UP, take over fashion shows, set trends, influence the style and trends of a few seasons, and THEN Louis Vuitton will be interested in you... thats taking the power and ownership, and black excellence... AND it will earn the true respect of the high fashion world kanye is seeking approval from... its a win win... but it dont happen in 1 year with no risk and no dedication

good luck with that... honestly just dont come to regular folks who would have to mortgage their house for a single head to tow LV outfit and expect folks to cosign your god like visions...

just finished listening to this interview...

:salute: to charlamange for getting in kanye's azz about his obsession with money, materialism, being contradictory and talking about sh1t the large majority of black people cannot relate to. all that givenchy, prada, lv, balenciaga, wang and designer name dropping kilt wearing talk. that ain't college dropout, late registration, graduation or even 808s steez. not what's real in the street. the realest thing ye said in the whole interview was when he said the same people that promote ignorant and violent rap also run or invest in the prison system. but then yeezy turns around and does a remix to chief keef. :snoop:

homeboy said he is walt disney... :wtf: ...and kim is marilyn monroe :aicmon:

he's really taking narcissism to the next level. i don't know who's polluting his mind with this bullsh1t, but they're right when they said he don't have no real dudes around him. must be why common not on good anymore...:mjpls: dude is really gone. and i doubt he's coming back at this point.

i mean dude said he's the tupac of prada...

False. Because Kanye did do fashion. Yeezy's? The Louie V shoes? And people were clamoring for those. Did he get a second chance? Nope. They put a ceiling over him and said thats all he can do. Now look at his analogy of drake making so far gone and then birdman saying "well, that was cool but for your next product we're not so sure when it will drop"... Theres nothing weird about that? Put you in that situation and you're not mad? Ad the fact that he can actually influence people to think, act, and dress differently, and you get what we're getting now. Him ranting about the stuff that he has experienced and doesnt like.

true, but at the same time he hit you with the yeezy's and the LV designs so how hard could you really argue against it :patrice:

i kind of understand it though cuz they're like "nikka just cuz you can make shoes we're not gonna give you a a full line :childplease:"

if he took others advice and started his own shyt it could be dope, but wouldn't get that same level of respect those other brands get. so him wanting some kind of cosign makes sense too :patrice:

tbh this nikka is kinda floating in uncharted water :mindblown: way too much shyt going against his favor, i def woulda said fukk it and bounced :whew: (right onto Kim's soft ass :noah:)

it's basically what he said, neither Sway nor Charlemagne or anyone else has been in this situation and can't grasp the levels of shyt he's talking about so all of their opinions and advice on the matter are completely worthless

He have 2 earn the respect of the people like those other lines have and he and everybody bringing up the yeezy shoe needs to understand they sold out from not only being very limited but a part of that had to do with the nike brand behind it and kanyes influence. Yes they were dope but those factors play a big part in that.

Like I just stated it was more factors within them shoes selling. Kanye has a fan base because of his music that will support whatever he does not just because they think they dope but because they support the nikka and that they are still a nike shoe. And on top of that they were very limited

Of course not. But its like he said. If he made through the wire and people didnt give him another chance to rap or make another song wouldnt that be weird?

I would agree if he wasnt saying this kind of stuff 10 years ago. But he was. He was saying the same stuff about being a christian. About corporations. About people boxing him in. About wanting to help people etc... Only now hes a bigger artist and hes upped the ante in his tone. Thats the only difference.

I agree with the Marcus Garvey reference. Though Garvey if I remember correctly, was trying to get blacks back to Africa. Kanye is trying to uplift blacks whereever they are to starting clamoring for what they deserve. In other words it seems Kanye is trying to do more than what Garvey was. Not more as in better but more as in different aspects.

I think hes sincere in wanting to help people, but also seems like hes more focused on drawing attention to his own "rich nikka problem" as he talked about fashion for 80% of the interview....all he showin so far to blacks is to beg white people to let you do something because you cant do it as big on your own.

And personally I feel he speaking more on emotion than reality. You claim you cant do it yourself because you don't have access to the right fabrics, and it must be high end,and you will lose money....but today you say it will be affordable.

You don't know nobody who started they own affordable clothing lines and didn't lose money doing it Ye:usure:? sound like he blowin smoke up his own azz or ours.

Bring ya futuristic thoughts azz back in to 2013 and make sense in this time. Otherwise you appear as somebody who said some smart dumb shyt you didn't really think out,and now you just sticking to your guns:heh:...but hey maybe hell just show us like he has done in the past....but just be quiet til 2023 when you makin sense

garvey was hitting on all levels business, politics, social and economic freedom, import exports. Kanye hasn't said or done shyt to tell me he has bigger things planned:ohlawd:...he know nikkas who own tv stations, nikkas who have meetings with billionaires:win:....he know Oprah who already a billionaire who has connections. Beyonce a icon to women all over...Maybe its like he said, he just don't know how to talk to people,it really could be that simple. If you cant explain your vision you cant be mad people cant see it and look at you like :what:...but maybe hell just show us like hes done in the past:manny:
