That's what I'm saying. There isn't one song on this new album that tops any of these IMO, and I was not a very big TLOP fan.

Right... I also fukked with Ultra Light Beam, Waves, Wolves, FML... I mean lyrically he wasn't crushing buildings, but the overall sound and production on most of that album was :wow: status.

This one? Not so much. This one seems much like a therapeutic release for Yeezy, doens't sound angry like Yeezus or as fun as TLOP, just sounds like he's putting out some current thoughts for people to see about himself, which is cool, but it is what it is. I don't think this has the stay power of any of his other albums

Why is TLOP so hated? That shyt third behind LR and CD
You got it over Graduation and Dark Fantasy?

I don't hate TLOP. I think the problem is I heard the first version before they re-did it, and it just struck me as almost sounding like it wasn't finished and it seemed like it had no direction. I liked it way better than Yeezus though.

I mean most people have Dark Fantasy as his best or his 2nd best album. I definitely can't think of hardly anyone that would put it outside of the top 3 besides that Fantano guy. I do think it has a couple misses on the tail end, but the best parts of that album are basically perfect.

Regarding Graduation, it seems to be a real love it/hate it album. I see a lot of Kanye fans place at at #1 and many that place it at the bottom.

I always liked it a lot because it was a great blend of his old style, plus some Dilla style sampling, plus him venturing into newer sounds and non-sampled beats, and finally some stadium style music. I liked that there was only 1 or 2 features, no skits, and it felt lean with only about a dozen tracks. Also, I liked the production on there from Nottz and Toomp. It was the last time we heard Kanye before his mom passed, and Graduation IMO is the last time we heard a somewhat sane Kanye. I think some of his best songs ever are on there (Flashing Lights, Can't Tell Me Nothing, Good Morning, Everything I Am) and some of his most underrated songs (I Wonder, Champion, Glory). Obviously major hits like Stronger and Good Life, even if they sound a little dated, were undeniable at the time. Drunk and Hot Girls was the only genuine dud on that album IMO.

Imma need Kanye to let this whole trap rap phase go. Stop trynna rap n flow like these kids. Let them have that. The wouldn’t leave joint is where he finally sounds like himself. Not good. I can’t duck with him doing that trap flow shyt....just let it go man....

his flow is so mix-matched with that production style. he has to know at this point...

Those are the four best songs on the album, and Saint Pablo wasn’t even on the original version. That’s why I said TLOP had highs and lows because you can say the best songs were better than any song on Ye, but the worst songs are worse than any song on Ye as well.
