Karens are upset that “King Richard” focuses on a black man.

The man left his old family to start a new family. :manny: Celebrating him as a person is just weird. I’m still going to watch the movie.

No you see if the woman leaves most guys have been conditioned to try to stay with her and just "try to be there" NO you start your own family a man must always be on his purpose. That is why we see him having a movie and he is also a great father.

Serena and Venus literally produced the movie. I agree this is how black people have been divided for decades and a lot of it comes from white feminism. Relegating the role of their father to that of “a man” is asinine. He’s their father. One of the two most formative people in their lives, who shaped their drive, protected them, nurtured them, etc. To the point that today as grown, accomplished women they wanted to produce this film about him. If you know that’s where they stand, why are you offended for them?

I'm not saying it was justified but this is why I lost NO sleep (if not slept better) when Zac S. did his deed. Foolish? Absolutely. Has a problem? Brother needs help. Punishment? Of course but I won't call him out of his name for what he did.

You know
I'm surprised the black divesters haven't joined them. :mjpls:

Or are we acting like only "Karens" have a problem with black men being seen in a positive light? :mjpls:

The movie is called King Richard not Queens Venus and Serena :why:
I’m sure lipstickalley agrees with the criticism :mjpls:

It just shows that some people are so used to black fathers having a negative image in the media, they're bothered when it's the opposite. The movie doesn't fit their narrative of what black men are. If the movie was about Venus and Serena overcoming an abusive black father, they would love it.
