Honestly, it’s some Inception-level tactics by the FBI. They put it out there and let folks, especially Black folks, run with it. One of, if not the first time I heard of these affairs was watching Malcolm X when this FBI agents listening to the bugs in his home said something like “This Malcolm guy is like a saint compared to King”. That movie was written and directed by Spike Lee, a Morehouse grad so I know he has a certain reverence for Dr. King. For him to write that into his movie gave it credence for me.
