I agree for the most part when it's present day shyt that someone is doin/done, as in this social media world you should know better (knowing you're watched and your actions are documented). It be when they dig deep into something someone said or did 20 years ago off some random tweet/event.
It's a double edged sword though cause of course if it's someone you don't like it's all gravy but it hits different when you see someone you fukk with that has some entity in the shadows trying to drag their name off some petty fukkshyt they mighta did a decade ago. You just gotta take the good & bad with social media, keeps these crakkas accountable but it can also be used by a powerful machine programmed to tear down certain folk.

Cant say I agree with him. To me cancel culture is the free market being manipulated. Used to be you don't like someone, turn the channel. The only people really affected by this are the handful of actors/directors that cant get parts anymore. Comedians are kind of immune. The attempt forms part of the cancel culture. It is not good enough to say "How many people you are about were cancelled" when not everyone's following outweighs the bad PR.

Not everyone is J K Rowling. An average Joe or actor whose career isn't starting out would have it derailed for the things she said.

He brings up some good points when its used correctly, although I think of cancel culture as also being times where people take the punishment far beyond what the alleged offense was. Often not waiting for the facts to come out.

This, plus:

A) from the context clues, it sounds like he’s talking about his own field instead
of the idea that anybody with any kind of name can be “cancelled”.

B) “Cancel Culture” imo is marked by people whose first instinct seems to be
“fucc them, they’re cancelled” when some chit goes down, or who bring up old chit
on a person they don’t care much for anyway.


For example - I like Katt as a comic, but he has times where he on stage has had some
extremely ill chit to say about specific people that has influenced public perception about them.
Those are his opinions and he has every right to say them, but that’s akin to the same thing
