I don't know if what he says is 100% true or not but it is definitely intriguing. I'm leaning towards Katt due to the fact that Niel Brennan (as someone posted a video earlier) had a hand in saying Dave had drug problems and that was supposed to be a good long time friend of his From that I would say there was a definite plan to smear Dave when he left but the reason is still unclear. I haven't heard any of the behind the scenes dealings going on with Bernie Mac and his story before he died. I hope someone can shed some light on that for me.

He said some shiit int he past (I didn't catalog it, I just made the mental note that dude is one of "them type of black people". It might of been in the vein of "Africans dont like Black Americas so we dont like them either" I honestly dont remember so dont quote me.)

As far as what he said in the video, I am so tired of the same old narrative..."Africa, they dont have food, they dont have water, they dont have this, they dont have that) Its dumb. Africa is a CONTINENT not a city. :what: There are 54 countries and over a billion people there. There is definitely a problem of wealth distribution and lack of a middle class but people talk about the absolute worst as if it represents the whole continent. I dont have too much tolerance for that talk from black people.

Exactly. His bit about he only wanted to be famous enough to put his dikk on someone's shoulder and they not get mad summed it up perfectly. Dave wanted nothing to do with fame, and he wasn't motivated by money either. He was just an incredibly talented dude who wanted to live a normal life and make people laugh.

He really wasn't bout that Hollywood life.

I could see why one could come to this conclusion about Dave and fame...however:

- I think of that one sketch he had on the show about Nick Cannon gettin' a role over him that "took his son's school clothes money".
I say that meaning everyone (no matter if they really like their profession or not), is in it for the money. And if generate that much money,
you're gonna want your cut.

- the kind of thing Katt talks about here is the same kind of thing Patrice O'Neal used to talk about in the comedy industry.
I'll paraphrase: "You get into comedy thinking you gotta be funny. No - you gotta play the game..." And it seems like comedians know
each others' biz like that from my experience. Especially, the part about Dave being called "Pilot Boy". I used to see "Pilot Boy Productions"
at the end of Chappelle's Show and wonder what that meant...makes sense now.

So yeah, it doesn't seem to far fetched for what Katt's saying here to be plausible imo.

So then...what should he be saying differently about Africa, if you yourself admit these problems are manifest?

@Taadow He should be keeping things in their correct context.

Its like me looking at Chicago gang violence and saying..."Black people are shooting each other every day. Black people are dangerous" when in actuality its NOT black people, its not even the entire city of Chicago...its a sub-group of young gang members that are doing the shootings.

I can't put a negative shadow over ALL black people because of the gang violence. Yes it is there but everyone shouldn't be stigmatized because of it.

Sad for Katt, and sad for the fact Blacks with huge talent still need or feel they need White outlets. Thats where all our issues in music and film begin.
Sadly, to get to THAT level of fame, you do still need white outlets.

You can get famous on your own through the internet and other means, but you're not getting to international (or even national) fame without a push.

And what difference would that have made here? The focus wasn't the sociological climate of where Dave supposedly went,
but the fact that he could've gotten some A-1 yola and got blitzed out without having to leave this country...
