First of all, he had more than "two bad games" this series. He went 3-10 in the 2nd Half of G6, his second half buckets were a dunk in the closing moments, a layup when the lead was already lost and a 3 earlier when they were in the process of choking the lead....
You cant spin G6 as a good game when you also account for him getting whipped on defense, turning the ball over, etc....
Second of all, no loss is ever on just one player. I know yall like to do that with LeBron, but it was never true with him and it isnt true with Kawhi. However, he gotta carry the lion's share, 4-21 shooting in the second halves of the last two ganes of a playoff series is embarrassing. That isn't an inexcusable performance in must-win scenarios when you blew leads of 19, 16, and 13 in the final 3 ganes with a 3-1 lead and you're the best player on the team and supposedly one of the greatest players ever if you listen to nikkas on here...
Re: '14 Finals, he wasnt the Spurs best player that regular season or that postseason and the FMVP coulda gone to Duncan, Green, or Parker, stop it. You said Kawhi was the best player on that Spurs team, thats a lie and everyone knows it...
Make sure you have this same apologetic energy, "every superstar is not gonna have a great game in every game of every series", keep that same energy next time you wanna hop on Bron, Steph, Harden, Giannis, or any other star...
Its gonna be interesting to revisit the Butler vs Kawhi comparison at the end of the playoffs, do you remember circa 2015 when Kawhi, Butler, PG was a three-way debate on who was better and who had the brighter future?
Finna be 2015 again. I rememver having those debates in real life. Butler has been a really good player and a little underrated at times, but he was never the player he is now, this is a coming out party...
