Kawhi Leonard is the equivalent of Mitch Richmond if he played in the 90's

Did you not just read my post - He's an all-time great only because of his longevity.

Thanks for that Captain Obvious. The problem is, folk don't know how to differentiate between the two, they think that just because Kidd is a HOF-type of player that therefore automatically it means he was this transcedent player during his prime on that simple basis. You've got folk on this board who genuinely believe he'd be the best PG in the game if he played today. That's the issue here. They overlook just how much of a detriment he was to his team's offense when he occupied the majority of the possessions.

:dwillhuh:

Isn't that what the fukk I just said in my post you quoted?

I talk about Kidd in the proper light that he should be discussed in. No filler, no props, no bullshyt, no revisionism. I can guarentee for a fact that nobody on this board has watched (both live and on tape) and dissected more of Kidd's play like I have.

:manny:
I actually don't see that.
Seems almost every time I've seen you mention Jason Kidd it's with a qualifier about how he's not so great. Or only great because XYZ.

But whatever.

:hhh: Man shut the fukk up
:umad:
We gonna act like the nikka ain't been to 3 finals

And the one he won

Against you know who :mjpls:
We gonna act like he didn't go to two Finals during one of the weakest (if not the most) periods of EC history? We gonna act like he wasn't a role player in the other Finals appearance he had?

The Raptors would've most probably made it into the Finals last season, and they would've had a realistic shot at making the FInals this season, if there was no LeBron. Now tell me, why should that change how you view his game, and his value as a player?

Kidd is the most overrated player in the modern era by a country mile. He's an all-time great only because of his longevity. He wasn't a great, transcendent player during his prime like these revisionists will tell you.
I dont necessarily disagree, except that Kidd in his prime was one of the best defensive lead guards in the NBA. His broke jumper does knock him down many pegs tho.

But John Stockton was not an impact player. Bill Simmons had a good point about Chris Paul and John Stockton. Same player in different generations. Neither had the will to do what needed to be done to win a series.

Kidd>Stockton, at least because Kidd made a huge impact on the teams he was on.
